  1. I will second that :agree:
  2. Just wondering if it will swap in. I have a chance a a fairly low mileage 2.5 out of a 2000 Jeep Wrangler, other then the obvious sensors, intake and such, would it swap in to my 86 MJ?
  3. I think your right on everything except the motor, I believe that is the 350 Buick dauntless, 360 didnt have a V8 badge on them. Drop a newer HEI distributor in it and go. And I would not gut that truck for the axles, put it back on the road, you would not be sorry.
  4. a house lol......theres a guy not too far from me that has a awsome J-10....ive yet to see a J-20 in person :/ J20's or the older J2000 are pretty common around here still. I drive for a recycling company, and a guy brought a J20 in about 2 weeks ago, I didnt get down there in time before the crushed it. You would not believe all the J series trucks and Older full size Cherokee's that have seen the crusher in the last 3 years. Would make any grown man cry.
  5. Hey no problem, I appreciate you taking the time to look. Thanks
  6. Well right now I don't have one, so anything would work till I find a metal one. How much you want for it?
  7. I miss my 77 J10, 4 inch lift, 360 4 barrel, quadratrac. Makes me weepy just thinking about it
  8. Thank you, mine is melted so bad I'm not going to waste the time to put it back on.
  9. Either if you have one or know of one I can get quick I would appreciate it. Mine melted down. Would prefer Metal, but if all I can get is plastic I will have to live with it. Please PM me with what you have thanks
  10. Well you know your basics, 4.0 inline 6, dana 30 front, either dana 35 or D44 rear, AW4 auto tranny, more then likely 3:55 gears. As for the fuel pump yes it has the pump and float assembly if that what your asking same pump up to 93 then they changed to a different style that doesn't use the ballast on the fender.
  11. 1986 MJ, I have tracked it down to somewhere between were the harness comes into the cab. My wipers started working as soon as I grabbed the harness on the outside where it goes into the cab and jiggled it around. So am I to assume I need to pull my harness apart where it goes into the cab and clean all of it or is there another issue I am missing? I have full voltage under the hood, but only on a few of the fuses inside the cab. My generator light still stays on dim, but alternator and battery are both tested good. I can get my heater motor to work if I jump straight from the fuses box to the switch on the dash. Still no dash lights or horn.
  12. What year are you working on? 94 up Cherokee doesn't have the ballast resister on the fender, they changed the fuel pumps from 94 up. I am guessing the motor is out of a 96 but what year is your rig?
  13. Any other things on the KC one that looked usable? How bad did the motor look, wouldnt mind having a re-builder around to go through before I pull mine.
  14. The head is worth that if it is truly rebuilt, heck if you got the room and the money I would do it.
  15. $250 for taillights :shake: , I only gave $300 for my whole truck and drove it home. And before you say it is 95% rust free none on the bed. Just has some wiring issues.
  16. A Cherokee/Comanche with column shift? Did know they made one, never seen one. Would that be a basic stripped down model or a special order?
  17. Scott: Howdy neighbor back atcha :waving: No my XJ is red. I havnt checked the output on the alternator yet, I figure if it is half way decent this weekend I will start tracking some of the issues. And see what I can find. You guys have pointed me in a lot of good directions to check, so here's to me finding the problem.
  18. Runs rough, even after complete tune up, kinda week feeling going down the highway. But figured most of that was the 4 cylinder. Like its chugging almost on hills. Has alot of blow by also so I am sure the motor is weak. Main thing I wanted to get what ever this electrical problem was fixed then I would start searching for a motor.
  19. Hey I just seen you was also Camdenton, Mo Thats just up 54 highway about 45 minutes from me. I'm just outside Lowry City, Mo Are you from there or have land there?
  20. I pulled a couple fuses but not all. The ones I pulled looked good and nothing looks wet on the outside. But I will check them all. As for the battery wires, they all look good I even added a couple more grounds hoping it was just a bad ground.
  21. What would I look for on the fuse box? I reached down as best as I could and tried to wiggle the wires where they enter the fuse box and nothing changed. I am an hour south of Kansas City I am right between Kansas City and Springfield. Truman lake area.
  22. I'm new here, belong to some XJ boards but this is my First MJ. Ok, I just purchased this 1986 4X4 MJ, been sitting for awhile, 4cyl 5 speed. Here's my issues, nothing in the cab works as in my wipers, my heater motor, my horn, dome lights you get the idea. My dash lights work, and my fuel gauge kind works, my generator light stays on dim. Now the funny thing, if I leave my wiper switch on, they will come on every once in awhile but won't stay. Ive never had this issue with any of my XJ's so I am lost. Any help would be great. Thanks
