transmission change question
jeepaholic replied to jeepaholic's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok..Its official..the part # i needed was FC 69907...unlike the one in the pic above..this one does not recess into that "second hole"...It fits into the first recess of the flywheel..sorry i didnt get a pic but sounds like i might after all..I used the slave out of the ba10 cause it looked like brand new..comparing it on the bench to the old one in the ax they looked the same..it fit perfectly..now i am being told they are different.. :dunno: -
Slave Cylinder Problem???
jeepaholic replied to robfg67's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
not to steal a thread but are the internal slaves of a ba10 and the ax15 different..please tell me there not..i just installed a tranny and used the one out of the ba cause it looked to be brand new..sure felt like it fit the same.. -
my friend actually bought it..(he beat me to it)..a 1993 wrangler..pristine..no dents..no rust..automatic 4x4..brand new tires..motor that spun a bearing...hard top..700 clams..the wife saw it today and was upset that i didnt get it.. :fool: he actually went to look at it with an empty trailer..kinda like what you said pong

When changing a 2wd with a ba10 transmission to a ax15 the pilot bearing is obviously different..but what about what appears to be a bushing in the back of the crank..is there a different bushing that goes in because the ax bearing doesnt fit inside the ba bushing..help me before i stick a rag in the gas tank and light this pig up please.

AX15 identification???
jeepaholic replied to jeepaholic's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just to have all my questions answered..clutch..i think is the same as a ba10..but some contradict..orielly says ax15 has 2 different clutches..i know the pilot bearing is diff from the ba to the ax..(well looks different)..i am converting the 2wd (88) ba10 to a 4wd ax15 and just want to have all my ducks in a row..i am gonna do a new clutch(stupid not to) and juggling the idea of internal vs external slave cyl..i don't really see what is wrong with internal..yes ya gotta drop the trans to fix it..but i am gonna be running d60 front and rear w/42" tsl's..I will be tearing up transmissions and transfercase's quicker than slave cyl. going out..just a thought. -

MJ#2 build w/leafs...NEW PICS
jeepaholic replied to jeepaholic's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
blazer i understand the sarcasm..I was simply trying to make a point..But if I listen to all the :smart: that tell me what i can and can't do i would never build a truck and simply go play golf..I understand the only way to run tires this big is to get Rockwells :shake: however I run with three other guys two that run 60/44 combos and one is 14/44..all on 44's..yes we break sometimes but usually only after drinkin liquid stupidity :dunce: ..Its all in what your gonna do with it and how ya drive it..not to mention going big enough on the axles to "handle" 42's creates a whole snoball effect..Its gonna find the weekest link..so next is drivelines, transmissions, transfer cases, etc..personally id rather break axles.. -

about a foot or so from the end of the front of the unibody..Had to notch the one on the driverside to accomadate for the steerin box bolts..It should be plenty stout as it sits but i think i might add some more beef for the times i launch it. -

Its still early in the build process..She was a 2wd grocery getter 2wks ago but I can tell you from experience the leafs up front is way easier than coils/long arm kit..You can check my other threads..Performance wise I can't tell ya yet though...But i see no downfall to the leafs if you are building a "trail" not a "rock" truck. :shake: -
