  1. Ok I will check that today and hopefully that is what happend. It’s been gradually moving all the way to the left. I’m sorry I didn't mention that part.
  2. The dash indicator broke. Is there an after market replacement or maybe a Ford/Chevy type that would work? Thanks
  3. Is there a replace for the plastic clip that holds the shifter cable to transmission? Thanks Mike
  4. Has anyone determined what 02 sensor is go replacement for a Renix 1987 4.0 engine? Thanks Mike
  5. Update got the new CPS installed this evening and engine started right up. Thanks to all the comments and suggestions. One thing I found very useful was a swivel socket my bolts were 7/16 and my friend had one. 10 mins tops to reinstall with it. If you have an automatic you need to unbolt the bracket holding the shifter cable makes that much easier. Thanks again keep on Jeepin!
  6. Okay so I test everything that is check for 12vdc at the larger of the two ports on passenger side and got 12v. Then went to the ECU and got 12vdc there using the cable ground, so I was checking both positive and negative at cable connector. Then I check for 05 ac at the EUC nothing (engine cracking). Then I went the CPS and check there for .05 Vac nothing there. So I pull the CPS sensor and will replace it. It will probably be Thursday afternoon before I can get to it. Those bolts holding that sensor are a real pain to get to. Luckily they were not rust in. I think I'm going to get one bolt in on the CPS, get the engine start and drive it to my friends garage have them put that second bolt in. My luck I'd drop it through the slot into bellhousing. Thanks for your help I'll report back after I get it running. Mike
  7. Ok thanks that clears up the confusion i had about this. I will give it try tomorrow evening and let you know I find.
  8. No I have not retested the cps. I heard different options about this. Is .02 VAC the minimum you want to see on the CPS? Does the engine need to be cranking to measure the voltage? Thanks for your reply Mike
  9. I hope I'm in the right area to to ask this question. My 87 MJ 4.0 has no spark. I did the following checks Took the center wire off the distributor cap and put spark plug on it and no spark Cleaned the C101 connector no spark Unplugged the CPS cable and reconnected it no spark Unplugged and reconnect both connectors on the coil no spark Check the relays all are good So my next thought is replacing the CPS Sensor is Napa the best place to purchase? Should I next look at the Coil and the unit the coil sits on? The last item would be ECU I replace the original 5 yrs ago with a 90 ECU but kept the original if all else fails I will put that back in. Since I know this is an electrical problem and I've isolated the distributor from the problem is there anything else I'm missing should be check that would cause a no spark condition? Thanks Mike
  10. Key parts do you have a link for them?
  11. Okay thank you for the info.
  12. I need to replace the floor pan on drivers side of 87 MJ. I need to know a good quality place to purchase a replacement? I google it and I came up C2C is a good quality pan? Also I want to seal the joints what is the best sealant for this job? Thanks Mike
  13. I sure hope it's to ask a question here about late model Jeep Cherokee. I have a low pressure light on the dash of my 2011 Grand Jeep Cherokee and I went around and check the air pressure on all the tires to include the spare. The light still won't turn off. I've looked on line as how to reset the sensor and it still won't go off. I don't seem to have a reset button so I hit the gas pedal 3 x within 10 sec's of turning on the ignition nothing worked. It's not flashing it just on. Can I just lift the positive battery terminal for 30 sec would that reset it? Or this there another short of taking it in a shop? Thanks Mike

I'd like to add a photo of my 87 Comanche to registry. I'm sure how to do that here but I already have my Comanche in the registry just missing the picture. Thanks Mike
  16. Thank you for your insight. I get a lot of complements on the way it is now. I'm not going to sell it anytime soon so I may just wait. Mike
  17. No other decals just the tailgate Jeep. I didn't know they come in reflective
  18. I had my 87 Comanche repainted same original color. I have not put a new tailgate decal back on it yet. I wanted to get options about replacing the decal. My Comanche is original rust color (best description) should even put it back on and if so should it be white or black? it was originally White, I'm leaning towards white to keep it original. Thanks for your input Mike
  19. So Pete your saying I don't need to remove seat floor brackets? I can just get the bucket seats and bolt them to the existing brackets. Boy that would be great.
  20. My 87 MJ currently has a bench seat and I'm thinking about converting to bucket seats. Is there any direct fit brackets ( re-drilling) that would bolt in directly from either an MJ or some other model Jeep? What about the console will that to go in place easly? Thanks Mike
  21. Thank you I just look it up too and it showed it for the my vehicle. I was trying to make sure. Thank you again Mike
  22. A member here provide me a tip on a Mopar 02 oxygen Mopar part 04713639 Oxygen Sensor for sale. Does anyone know if this one will work on an 87 Jeep 4.0 Comanche? The plug is three wire and should mate up to my cable on the Jeep but I wanted to know if it was a correct part or not. I don't seem to be able to find what year and engine this will work on. Thanks for help Mike
  23. I have a leak somewhere in my MJ, what is the power trick to locate the leak? I suspect it's coming from the front Wind Shield. I was thinking I might go to an auto window shop to see if they can reseal it but I'd like to confirm that's where its coming from. I see a small puddle when its sitting after a rain storm or when I wash it on drivers side. Mike
  24. I discover the other day that my EGR valve wasn't working on my 87 4.0 Jeep Comanche. I had just replace the 02 Sensor and I decided to test the EGR valve with a vacuum pump to make sure it was working and discover it wasn't. I looked everywhere for new one and finally found one at Autozone fits and works perfectly. There are a few left if anyone needs one the part number is EGR4458. Mike
