  1. (that and I REALLY hate Texas) I hate Texas too, as most of the free world does except the people who live there. ............. GO TEXAS!!! ............. GIG THEM HORNS UP THEIR BAMA A-SSES!!! As for yall and tha rest of the free world hating TEXAS .......
  2. Oh, oh, I know, I know!!! :waving: THEY SUCK AND SHOULD NEVER BE INSTALLED ON A JEEP!!! :rotf:
  3. I can't remember tha last time it snowed in Houston but we actually got about 2 inches worth of tha crap Friday. Most of it melted by tha next day so all thats left now is a mud. While it was comming down and had everything blanketed I gotta admit it looked kinda pretty. Other than that yall can have it.
  4. Snag everything you can. Put it all on a shelf and use as needed. (sooner or later you'll need um) I guess you were actually asking what other parts will you need off the 94 in order to install its guage cluster into your 89 ...... right? Sorry but I can't help you with that. I'm sure there's those that can and will asap. Where are you located? If tha guy is parting out the whole thing, do you know if he'll ship? If that thing has at least a 4+ inch lift and you don't need tha parts, I'd be interested in just about everything. (springs, upper and lower adj arms, adj track bar, end links and whatever else it may have) Depending on where you are, I could use tha trans and t/c too assuming their good and tha t/c is a 242. Let me know. Thanks. Robert
  5. CW Nice hogs ya got there. I wish I was allowed to hunt um where I do my trapping. Gaurentee I could git at least a 3-4 a day/night if not more. I'm thinkin they'd make for some great crossbow practic. Speaking of, here's what I have; http://www.barnettcrossbows.com/compoun ... r_avi.html 250 pounds is a big hog. Wish I woulda had a camera and taken a pic of tha 352 pounder my buyer had in his holding pen tha last time I was there. Its was impressive but still wasnt as big as a couple I've seen where I trap. I havent caught one that big I think mostly due to those big old bores won't normally go into a conventional trap. Ya gotta build a big round pen type trap for those beast. Biggest hog we've taken to tha buyer wieghed 219 lbs. We've caught a couple that were somewhat bigger but didnt have a scale to weigh um with. Tha buyer told me tha man who brought in that 352 said they roped it. He didnt say but my guess is they were runnin dogs. We caught 2 more pigs last night. One nice sow about 180lbs and a little 50 pounder. Gonna butcher tha little one and sell tha sow to my buyer. Been kinda slow lately. I think that only makes 5 in tha past week. Gonna have to step it up. Thinkin its time to move a couple of traps. You aughta do fine in Georgia. I've heard there's plenty of um and seen pix of some a HUGE bores outa there. Good luck on your future hunts. Just but be careful out there. As you probobly already know, wild hogs are mean and can be unpredictable. Put it this way ..... I'd rather be in a cage with my wife than a pissed off wild pig. Just thought of either one scares tha hell out of me. :rotf: It may not be a 1000+lb HOGZILLA but check this out. ...... Tha place I trap only gits leased out for ranchers to run cattle on. No hunting what so ever. All togather tha place is over 10,000 acres but about 1/3 of it has been fenced off and turned into a park with socker fields, baseball fields, and an area to fly model airplanes. They fenced it off with barbwire so of course that doesnt keep tha hogs out. It really pisses tha sports fans off when they show up to play and find tha hogs have torn through thier nicely manicured playing fields. I personally think its funnier than sh-t and can't help but laugh my a-s off. Anyway, Tha old man that had tha last lease told me about a hog that he had seen numerous times that was damn near as big as one of his cows. Claimed one day he was working on a fence row and saw something coming toward him along tha fence and just glanced up thinking it was one of his cows. Said he went on with his fence repair when about that time tha hog let out a grunt that didnt sound anything like a cow. Said he looked up again to see this HUGE beast lookin right back at him. He swore up and down that hog was almost as tall as the top wire on tha fence and would surely weigh at least 500-600lbs. Now being the old rancher he is, I figure he's a pretty good judge of what livestock weighs just by lookin at it. I don't know if I beleive his story or if it was just an old man makin up lies. I've been out there pretty regular and have yet to see one that big. Not to say I havent seen a couple of BIG hogs but nothing quite like what he was discribing. On the other hand, considering this land is watched pretty closely for poachers by several different law enforcment departments, (game warden, sherriffs dept & constables) I was told by one of the constables that his story isnt far from being true. That he has seen on several occasions a HUGE hog having the same colors as the old man claimed. Now with that added little tid bit of info you gotta know I after his BIG @$$. Tha constable told me where all he had seen it. Each time was in an area that for whatever reason I havent trapped yet. Maybe not today, tomorrow or even in tha next month, but you can bet your @$$ one way or another I'm gonna find and catch that BEAST. It aint goin nowhere and niether am I. :peek: L8R!!! Robert
  6. My son says he'd really like to buy your lift and appreciates tha offer but just doesnt have tha cash for it right now. He would however like to know whats tha rock bottom you gotta have for it. Maybe yall can work something out. Robert
  7. I just bought another MJ. I am going to do a 4 door MJ next year. I need the funds to finance this project. Yes it is the $1200 BDS kit. The lift is a little over a year old. It had no sag and I got no DW with it. The kit is missing a couple bolts and the upper shock bushings and bolts for the front. He could reuse his stock ones in place of the missing parts. The bolts that are missing is for the track bar drop bracket. You have to replace your stock motor mount bolts with longer ones from the kit. I lost my stock bolts and just reused the ones from the kit. The bolts are easy to find at any hard ware store. They were nothing special. Just an inch longer than the stock ones. All the parts in the kit are in perfect condition. There are no blown bushing or rusted parts. It is a really nice kit. I have no use for it and want it gone. It would make an awesome Christmas gift! :wavey: Moved .....
  8. My wifes dad took out a buzzard in his pickup one hot summer afternoon. Damn thing went through tha windshield and slattered all over tha back of his extended cab. He tried to clean all tha guts out of it but it still stunk so bad after sittin in tha sun for a few days he traded it in tha following week. I ran over deer with my ATV one night. Apparently its faster than they are. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
  9. I sell most of um to a buyer for a slaughter house. The rest we either sell to whoever wants one or butcher um. Due to state laws we can only sell um live to a slaughter house/buyer or to an approved game ranch. (bores only) Sows can only be sold to a slaughter house/buyer. I'm currentrly looking for an approved game ranch to sell bores to. My hopes are that a ranch will pay more per head instead of sellen um per pound to tha s/h buyer. Sellin um to tha s/h buyer I only git $50 bucks for a 200lb hog and it goes down from there for smaller ones. My last load of 13 hogs only paid $310 bucks. Thats why I need to find a ranch that'll pay at least $50 bucks a head. That same 13 hogs would have been worth more than swice what I got per pound. As for my computer crashing. This wasnt tha first time. :headpop: Seems like I would have learned by now to backup my system or at least save all my files to a disc or flash drive. Gonna look into gittin a seperate backup too.
  10. Been trappin wild hogs for tha past couple of years for the US Army Corp of Engineers. They want um out of a 10,000 acre flood control area because their always rootin up tha dam causing erosion. Tha place is covered with hogs. If i had to guess, I'd say I've taken about 200 hogs out so far. I'm runnin 4 traps that are 5'x 5'x 15' Highest count in one trap at a time is 9 hogs plus another we shot that was hangin around outside the trap. Doing this trapping is tha whole reason I bought my MJ. Here lately it seems like more often that not its been pretty muddy trying to run my traps. Sure is gonna make my life easier when my unfinished 4x4 conversion truck actually has 4 wheel drive. We take tha hogs out of tha traps live. Here's a couple of pics of just a few in our holding pen. I call um "Demons from Hell" I had a lot more pix before my computer crashed again. (thanks to some sorry @$$ hi-jacker) That SOB trashed my hard drive so bad that I had to install a new one and in doing so lost everything on my computer. :fs1:
  11. I've been searching for tha best prices I can find on various lift parts. Here's what I've came up with. Rough Country adj track bar for 4"-6 1/2" lift ....... $58.18 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT Rough Country 4.5" front coil springs ......... $129.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT Rusty's 4.5" front coil springs ......... $129.00 ((prefered) "designed with a soft spring rate in mind")) http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchant.m ... Code=COILS Ironman upper and lower control arms ....... $114.50 & $139.50 or $249.50 for all 4. http://www.ironman4x4fab.com/XJ_Inventory.html If anybody knows where I can buy these (or other brand names)parts for less, please let me know. Keep in mind this is mostly a street truck that only see's lite offroading. (other than having the advantage of more ground clearance, nothing a stock truck couldnt do with ease) Thanks in advance. Robert
  12. Piece of cake. I've never had a problem wiring anything from scratch. Been there, done that countless times. I just needed a few pointers on tha factory wiring for tha fog lights and how to keep tha dimmer switch from turning um off when you go to high beams. Now that I know how tha system works, I won't have a problem making it do what I want it to. Thanks for tha help everybody. Robert BTW ..... I'll use this when I run my light bar lights. Thanks!!! #30 is for fused power into the relay. #85 is for the relays ground. #86 is the trigger wire, run a small like 18/20Ga wire here as no big power/amperage is needed. This wire only "fires" the relay itself. #87 (&87A) go out to the item you need to power. The "A" works nice if your wiring lights as you use one wire for each lite.
  13. OK, so what your saying is if you connect your thingamajig to tha dohickey, your whatchamacallit aughta work but only of your deallyflopper doesnt interfear with your dodad. RIGHT???
  14. I was always tought if you let the magic smoke out of electronics, they won't work right afterwards. Thats a fact!!! I don't know how they git that smoke in there but you damn sure know you've screwed something up when ya let it out. I reckon they must put that unmistakable smell in too. :rotf:
  15. Dude ...... git out of your chair and step away from tha bong. :rotf: LMAO!!! Thanks!!! I think its gonna work and look pretty good. Since I already have tha material, I'm gonna try to git it fitted this weekend. L8R!!! Robert
  16. Naaa, I've got this. Thanks for offering tha diagram though. I'll let ya know if I let tha smoke outa my wiring harness. I aint sceerd!!! Thanks everybody. Robert
  17. :agree: and by doing so the fog/spot lights would still be supplied power through the factory fog light relay. Next question ........ is the factory fog light main power wiring to tha relay, tha relay itself and tha wiring thereafter to the lights capeable of handling twice as much wattage? (110 watts verses 200 watts) or (9.1 amps verses 16.6 amps) :huh???: Damn thats confusing. :???: Lets git down to basics. ...... Could I burn up any of the factory wiring by nearly doubling the amount of power pulled by the higher watt bulbs? How bout this ....... Has anybody replaced their stock 55 watt fog light bulbs with higher 100 watt bulbs and had any problems with the wiring burning up?
  18. Awwww, your no fun at all. I figured I could charge people to pull um outa tha ditch when my lights blind um and they run off tha road. :rotf: The factory wiring to the fogs already runs through a relay. All I'm doing is by-passing the headlight dimmer switch by supplying power directly to the fog light switch inwhich supplies power to tha relay for tha fogs. No the spots won't turn off along with the brights anymore but I don't intend to use um on the road anyway. Ya know, now that I've come up with that light bar idea, I might just leave tha fog lights alone. :dunno: Thanks for tha warnings. Robert
  19. Ut oh!!! I'm pretty sure he's thinkin he could do tha same thing to his 99 WJ as his brother did to his 96 ZJ. Not tha same critter huh??? I didnt know tha difference to tell him it won't work on his. I'll be sure to let him know. I'll also let him know about your kit. But ........ what this "but I just bought another WJ"??? You thinkin about puttin that lift on it? Oh, when you say you have a BDS kit, you are talking about BDS Suspensions ...... right? http://www.bds-suspension.com/ How old is tha kit and what condition are all tha components in?
  20. No problem. I'll let ya know how it turns out. I pulled out some material today and clamped a few pcs togather just to git an idea of what its gonna look like. Its exceptable if you don't mind it looking like you installed a roll bar thats too tall for your truck. I'd prefer tha cleaner look of top mounted lights but somehow I seem to always end up driving my truck through tha woods and under low hanging tree limbs/branches and don't wanna have to worry about rippin my lights off in tha process. I'd like to have this bar done in a few weeks but its not exactly on my priority list. We'll see. Robert
  21. I know thats a good deal but he's on a lower budget than that. He just wants to do tha front to rear swap like my other son did on his YJ. (3" lift spring under tha front with the stock front spings moved to tha rear) Thanks for tha offer. Robert.
  22. OK, remember that j/y motor one of my sons bought at a j/y for his 99 WJ and had so much trouble with getting water in the oil? Long story short, when we took back his original motor as a core, we didnt give um his intake or injectors. With that said ..... I have another son that ownes a 96 ZJ and he also heard/read/whatever that a 99 intake on his 96 motor would give it a few more hp and therefore make it perform a little better. With tha apparently being true, is there anything else he'll need to do other than bolt that complete 99 intake on and go? http://www.mallcrawlin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6355 OOPS!!! Didnt know I posted tha same thing twice. Come to think about it I did have some kind of trouble and had to re-submit it.
  23. Thinkin about buildin myself a home grown light bar. Tha bar will mount to the bed rails just behind tha cab. I already have some grab rails on my truck so I should be able to use the front two mounting holes for them and only have to drill 1 more hole on each side to mount tha bar. Planin to use 1 1/2" square tubing and 3/16" plate or 1 1/2 angle for tha mounts. (if angle is used, one side would sit on top of tha bed rail and the other side would go along the inside edge of tha rails and likely give tha bar more stability) Imagin that. I just so happen to have a pic of my rough drawing. (shown with plate mounts since my angle iron brain fart came later) So what yall think???
  24. Thanks but I already found one. Looks like I only have two choises. Option #1 is to cut the power wire from the hi/low headlight switch going to the fog light switch and run power directly to tha fog light switch from any power source thats on when the ignition is turned on. Option #2 is as above but run power to the fog light switch from the hot/on side of the headlight switch. Naturally with #1 I could run tha fogs/spots without the headlights being on. With #2 I'll obviously have to have um on. Unless yall can see another way to do it, I'm goin with option #2. I don't think I'll ever need my spot lights on without the headlights being on as well.
  25. Yes they do. Ignore whomever posted the previous reply. Optimum injector size has to be dialed in by the A/F ratio tuning. Read up on the 99+ manifold here: http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewt ... Comanche91 I picked up about 12HP on the dyno, and a bit better mileage. Unbuilt motors average about a 9HP gain. Lots of good info on performance mods on that forum - you won't get much here. :D OK, remember that j/y motor one of my sons bought at a j/y for his 99 WJ and had so much trouble with getting water in the oil?
