  1. My transfer case leaks, probably needs an overhaul. Can someone recommend a good quality kit?
  2. 4.0 H.O AX-15 5 speed 4x4 Pioneer Long-bed Looks like it's spent the first 6-7 years in Arkansas before going to Arizona, and then finally to California. Registered in Florida when I bought it, but it never left the state (military member). No rust, lots of upgrades already done to it. Interior needs some work. Transfer case has a slight leak. Planning to re-do the paint at some point, as well a spray-on bedliner. Also planning on new axles as well. Really nice truck, just needs a few little things.
  3. Sorry for the late reply. I was able to find one. Grey.
  4. Hello. My 91 longbed 4x4 had a newer center console installed when I bought it, but I wanted to take this out so that the space between the two bucket seats could be reserved for my dog. I'm looking for a mini-console for a 4x4 that hopefully has the inserts still. Let me know if you have one! Thanks
  5. Do you have a link to the thread? I tried searching for that but no luck.
  6. Hi everyone, so I bought my first MJ last night! Excited to officially be part of the club now. All the gauges work, even my fuel sending unit, but I'm paranoid about this specific gauge and I would love to have a spare just in case. I'm finding 3rd party ones on carid that say they fit but it also says it fits XJs so I don't think it is the right part. Does anyone have one they can help me out with? Thank you
  7. Wow, I had no idea it took that much time and effort on your part. Thank you for all the hard work!
  8. I miss these updates... Bonkers, what search engine did you use to compile all of these?
  9. To anyone considering this one, don't bother. Paid to have an inspection done up there.... floorpan on driver's side rusted through, catalytic converter removed, front end needs to be rebuilt, tranny wet all the way around, leaking brakes, rusted spots on paint all the way through, and a bunch of other things the mechanic read off over the phone.
  10. If it would have been a manual and in California it would have been exactly what I was looking for :(
  11. I contacted the seller about it a couple weeks ago. I'm surprised it hasn't sold yet. He said that people have been trying to get loans for it but due to the age, nobody can get one, so it would be a cash only sale. Says there is one spot of rust along the drivers side door panel, the front drive shaft needs to be shortened due to the D44 conversion in the front, and a couple other minor things that can be fixed before the buyer comes and picks it up. Looks really nice but I've decided to stick with my current rig for a little while, while I wait for something more local (and hopefully stock/cheap) to come along.
  12. Thank you for compiling this list. I'm looking for my first MJ so I appreciate it.
  13. I'm guessing it'll go for around $10k after the smoke clears.
  14. Looks like the guy put it up on eBay, starting at $500 with no reserve http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Comanche-/171861158025?ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en&fromMakeTrack=true
  15. I'm afraid so. Still in the process of moving and I've been doing some projects around the new apartment that I felt too busy to work on the Xterra. My mechanic owed me a favor on something he screwed up last time so I figured it was time to call it in. Good to hear the place is keeping busy.
  16. How much advance notice do you need to give? I can leave on Fridays after work and be out there by about 9:00-9:30. I only have my daily driver at the moment, however.
  17. Here's the guy who got me looking around at Jeeps, lol. That XJ is crazy... Sounds like a plan. I would love some more excuses to go out there. I took a look at the weather where you are.... looks really nice. Last month it was 115 but it's been in the 80's? Might be time for a weekend trip.
  18. This is seriously perfect. Pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I can't afford it, though :(
  19. Thanks for the welcome. I thought NAXJA was strictly an XJ club, so I never considered going to them. I'll probably join there to in order to increase my odds of finding something. I don't know if my friend has an account here or not. He just got his MJ and is in the process of stripping it out. I can't remember what he said he was putting in there. Thanks for the advice regarding a 2wd. I must admit, I'm not the most handy when it comes to working on rigs. Most of the upgrades I put into the Xterra I had done in the shop. I can replace brakes, do oil changes, and other minor work, but when it comes to fabricating, welding, tearing apart an engine, and doing serious mods I'm not at that point yet. Maybe if I get a nice beater MJ it'll force me to learn this stuff for myself.
  20. Hi everyone. I didn't see an "Introductions" section of the forum, so this looks to be as good a spot as any to make my first post. Thank you for allowing me to register. Looks like a great community to be a part of. I visited a friend in the Death Valley area last month (he may already be a member here) and saw that he had purchased an MJ. Truth be told, I've never seen one in person before (or I hadn't been paying attention). I was there with my 1st generation Xterra for a weekend of wheeling. I like my vehicle overall, and it's done well on some pretty challenging trails I've taken it on, but I know that eventually I will be limited by it. The torsion bar suspension just isn't very good. To get rid of it and get some decent coilovers, I would need to do a straight axle swap, and at that point, I'm into it for some serious money (7-10k seems average). Part of me would rather have a truck, anyway. The MJ seems to have everything I would want, and I like that it's not a common wheeling vehicle. So I've been keeping an eye out for the last couple of weeks. I haven't quite decided on whether to go with a manual or an automatic, yet. I do plan on towing a small trailer in the near future, so the 5000 lb towing capacity of the automatic looks good compared to the 2,000 with the manual. I think I might regret selecting a manual transmission once I get into some steep and rocky sections on some trails. For everything else though, I'm a fan of manual transmissions over autos. I definitely want the short wheel base version, and preferably the 1991-1992 model years, due to the HO motor and some other upgrades. Any advice to help me on my search efforts? I'm hoping someone here might know someone selling one, or be able to keep an eye out for me. I live in So Cal but would be willing to pick up anywhere, within reason. Thank you in advance for your help.
