  1. Now that I'm awake and non-medicated, I just read over my first few posts. All I can say is building/designing an engine is a lot like being on a date with a really hot girl. Because one unexpected period will screw the whole thing up.
  2. Damn pics didn't load last post.. Here's the math conversions.
  3. You're right, Thanks. Used the wrong crank number. .060 Over bore = 3.94" x 3.625 stroke crank = 176.787cid/2.897L (2.9L). Think I used my Chevy Marine notes instead of the AMC notes. Lol.
  4. If you source a SD4 crank w/3.25" stroke and bore your 2.5L .060 over, you end up at 158.09cid 2.59 (2.6)L The 3.960" pistons can be bought through 505performance or made by any good company like Ross, JE or Keith Black. I had a SD4/Marine crank already. If you get a SD4 Pontiac crank you will have the hole for harmonic balancer already. But if you source a marine crank like I did, you will have to drill and tap for the balancer bolt.
  5. On the 3.25" & 3.625" cranks, if you do not use at least a 6.00" rod, you risk the chance of pulling the piston out of its bore (more or less the rings) on BDC. I've got a whole notebook on all my math and research but its a lot to type. I'm using custom 3.960" bore pistons and a 3.25" stroke crank. Final math is 2.926402 (2.9L)
  6. Sorry, still medicated, my mistake. I meant the stroke of the crank not rods. You can change the rod length to aid as well. The SD4 (Super Duty 4) Pontiac Fiero crank will work in our 2.5L but was available in in five different strokes. 2.6", 3.00", 3.25", 3.625" and 3.937" (don't attempt to use this one as it was a race only crank that will push the pistons too far into the combustion chamber!) With this Crank, Use SBC 6.00" w/ Large journal 2.1" x .955" rods. (With this measurement you can find custom rods easy like Manley or Eagle.
  7. Using custom pistons, rods and crank. Displacement = Bore (stock) x Bore (new) x stroke (crank/rod) Stroke can be achieved by either a new crank offset and rod length.
  8. New engine isn't in yet.....squeezing every mile out of this one.Good deal man. Due to a mini stroke a week ago, I got a couple friends coming next weekend to help pull mine out to rebuild.Who ground your camshaft? Mines s Clay Smith RV grind. Mine is a Melling. Sorry about the stroke, are you going to recover? Yes, already mobile...somewhat. Lol. Was pondering the idea of using a Weber carb or Holley 2bbl manifold instead of TBI. But guess I'll have to see how this setup works first.

  10. I'm building a 2.9L stroker for mine as well.
  11. Looking good man. How's that 2.5 working for ya?
  12. roflmao. I stole it a week or so ago. Thought y'all would find it fitting to some of the members. Lol
  13. And hey, that was my shirt! Lol
  14. YOU would know.....LOL. Why yes, yes I would. Now to drop memes of ney biblical proportions on the mentally void.
  15. Crap! Cruisers got "special" meme's out the wazoo. Be afraid, be VERY afraid. Lmfao. Jk Pete.
  16. Hey! Get outta my garage! Lol. (That's not me)
  17. Wait a minute, one says Tampa, one says Jersey....Red flag my friend.
  18. Hooah!
  19. I'm pretty much at a physical standstill due to a medical condition.....
  20. This may be true, but I was thinking of the standard trans options. Wasn't it just the BA10?That one, I won't touch. I thought you meant the automatic. Lol
  21. The TF904 is a good transmission and can be hopped up just like a TH350 or C6 can. My 71 Dodge Dart originally came with a Super 6 "Hyperpak" (145hp/215tq) and a TF904. I modded the engine with headers a camshaft and 390 4bbl carb. The 904, I beefed it up with a high stall converter, shift kit and TCI rebuild kit. It took a good amount of abuse and the Super 6 made three times more power than the 2.8L ever had.
  22. Link didn't post so here we go again. http://m.ebay.com/itm/191228810846?_mwBanner=1
