^^this^^ They're about as simple as "tech" gets. There's a slide inside the belts spool housing with a weight on it. When you hit the brakes, the momentum causes that weight to slide forward and "lock" the spool.

I take it REAL personal when idiots attack me on other forums and groups for no reason. Cruiser and I think a lot alike, as in if you admit you don't know about something, we will give you what you need to help you learn. If you get butthurt because its not what you expected or wanted to hear, then that's on you.

Exactly. Its not original anymore witch detracts from its value. And that engine really is nothing special. The NA model made 85hp while the Turbo model only made 87hp. He kept getting mad at me on fb because I posted the specs on it while he kept saying "I'm a dumb kid (I wish I was younger again. Lol) who knows nothing about vehicles."

AMC/Chrysler used to own OMC and manufactured the Mercruiser before Chevrolet bought them out around 89-90.

I'm using the OMC version. I've measured and mic'ed it. The caps will have to be line bored/machined a little along with the flywheel flange. There are also two different styles, 1 piece rear main and two piece rear main. I'm using a one piece.
