HO headers on a renix?
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You are correct sir. The pacesetters I have on it currently has the O2 bung further in the down pipe, I have already extended my wiring harness to accommodate that. I also deleted my EGR tube when I replaced the stock manifold just because it was easier that way. I'm looking to grab a set of SS HO headers. I'm going to have to get the down pipe section reworked because I no longer have the stock pipes that run to the joint by the trans mount. -
Are there any issues with using HO headers on a renix motor set up? I am having a hard time finding headers for my renix, I have pacesetters on it now and they are garbage. I want a good set that is bolt together at the joints rather that using clamps like the cheapo pacesetters

Well my issue is similar but opposite, Also there was no change in the condition of the misfire between original crank sensor and the replacement BWD sensor. -

Just had a discussion with one of the guys from work, he postulated that the MAP isn't going to start regulating fuel until the engine is warmed up, which may be causing my excess fuel dump that I think may be occurring. No proof though if so, is there any way to tune these ECM's like more modern cars, or should i just go back to factory injectors. I have seen many people go with 4 port 5.0 injectors so I don't really see why I'm having a problem. thoughts? -

ill see if i can borrow a set at the shop today. ii would ultimately like to put that permanent fp gauge in from the cruiser renix tips, i may just use this as an excuse to do it. -

also side note, this ONLY happens before the engine is warm -
Okay guys so I need a bit of help, I recently got my Mj back up and running after rebuilding the motor. It was running great for about a week... however it has now started missing at higher RPM's. After it misses a couple of times it will backfire. i have a new crank sensor and new distributor, new plugs and wires, new injectors and new fp regulator. suggestions? I had the thought that maybe I am getting too much fuel dumped in too fast and flooding the cylinders? I'm not sure that is even possible but its the only conclusion I keep returning to. I installed 5.0 mustang injectors after my build

1990 pioneer 4.0 rebuild

Got the truck started yesterday, however I hit a snag... My reman PS pump was no good. I cranked the truck and it ran great for about 30 seconds before the pump started squealing like a stuck pig. Then about 10 seconds after that blew off the return line and coated me the side of my house and the whole drivers side engine bay in ps fluid. Not the most fun in the world. Got another on the way, will be in tomorrow morning. -

Is that total? I had heard a number thrown around that there were 2,000 made in fl that year but I don't know what the validity of that is -

Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to misfitmechanic's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would not recommend pacesetters, had some real fitment issues with mine, and i was unable to install one of the bolts in the manifold because the tubes were bent way too close to the block. not worth the money saved -

Got A few goodies in, Also bought a new evaporator core and heater core. As you can see in the pictures the new one is slightly different than factory. Because of this I had to make some slight modifications to the air box because of the orientation of the tubes in the new evaporator core -
