Front turn signals
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to tylergrant2011's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I also have an issue with a bad ground on mine, when I back probe the socket with with a test light and the bulb still in it the bulb will cut on and function as intended, I have not gotten around to fixing the issue just yet. But I would be interested in seeing what you turn up. I will however be making my own led turn signals and scrap the junk sockets in the front. -
Is there a write up on the headlight relay upgrade? I have been searching for it but yielded no results. Thanks

Driver's side sag
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Now we are just quibbling over semantics haha. It really wasn't that serious, I simply didn't know how else to title it at the time and thought "no big deal". Guess I was wrong. Also it is still a correct statement. It is still Characteristic of an old jeep (or other vehicle of your choosing) to sag to the heavier side of the truck if the suspension parts are not replaced. -
Driver's side sag
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Since joining the forum I recall seeing at least one or two post about it but could not recall the title to be able to find them with a search. But I have even seen several older xj's running around where I live that also tilt a bit to the left. Now this is also my first Mj so It was really more of an assumption based on the fact I had seen a couple of other post about it and seen a few Xj's here and there. -
Driver's side sag
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
well its more the rear that sags to the left. the front has new coils and shocks and junk but the rear is the original leaf pack with a helper stuck under it -
Driver's side sag
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
While this is amusing, not sure that it will do me any good hahah. I have actually replaced the front coils, when I did my suspension lift. but I only have helpers in the leaf -
So is there any remedy to the characteristic driver's side sag with these trucks? I mean I know a lot of heavy components run along that side, so I was just curious if there was a specific reason for that and it needs to be left alone. If not has anyone been able to balance it out?

It doesn't really matter because I will be getting it reupholstered. Just would like the padding to be in decent shape of possible My bench doesn't have the cut out for the transmission tunnel. As a result you basically sit on the tunnel if you sit in the middle on my bench.

Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
True... at least the new cluster wouldn't have been a total waste at that point -

96 gauge cluster in a 90 pioneer
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
such is the nature of my question haha I'm in the dark about that as of right now so my question is more is it possible, and if it not i also doubt that it is possible to use just the gauge faces in my current cluster -
Okay so I managed to find a decent set of full gauges at a pull yard yesterday, and since I have dummy lights and would really love to know before something turns bad that it is bad haha. Anyways, the reason for this post is, I didnt really notice until I got back home that the speedo and such runs electronically in the 96 sport rather that with the conventional cable that I run now. What specific parts will I need to make this work? Are there any impending issues from switching it over, compatibility issues? Thanks! Jacob.

power steering help, please (2.5)
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to mjtjnj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When bleeding the power steering system you need to have the front wheels off of the ground and you need to turn it 21 or so times each way lock to lock to get the proper bleed. Also with my recent power steering headaches I had a similar issue. I personally went through 3 reman pumps from A1 before getting one that actually worked. I was close to saying screw it and returning it then pulling a used one from the u pull it and rebuilding it myself. So even with the "new" pump it could still be the issue ultimately. You should have some sort of limited warranty on your reman pump if the pressure switch is fairly cheap I would replace that as well just to cover all of the bases. -
pre bent hard break lines
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to NorthWoods's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I can't say that I did, I am a little mistrustful when it comes to ordering things of this nature online. after having issues with transmission lines I had ordered in the past. I opted to bend my own front lines. PAIN IN THE @$3 but I know it was done right. however if your free time is a factor bending lines is most likely not an option for you. -

HO headers on a renix?
Sir Jacob the 2nd replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is that the only place I would have to file down? Just in the lower front corner?
