  1. Great info guys.To the guy about quality, you get what you pay for we all know that. That said looks like you can get a pretty good bang for your buck with a rattle can.Oh yeah I have used the Tractor Supply implement paint Majic and it goes on easy and does seem to hold up well.
  2. Hey thinking of doing a little painting.Anyone want to show off their rattle can paint jobs? Can it be done and look reasonably good? Will they last? Do you just wash and wax like a regular auto paint job? I would love to see and here about some results before giving it a try.
  3. It was the sending unit.Cheap chinese crap, lasted about 8 months.i replaced it with Bosch at least it has a lifetime warranty.
  4. Man thanks for all the help.I will work on it today.I will ground it to the block and see if it zeros. The old boot is on but is a real loose fit.Think I will replace the connection.I just doubt an open circuit because all it did was unplug.I have had weirder things happen,I replaced a condenser on my 82 EZGO and it would not run turned out the brand new condenser was bad,so maybe the sending unit went bad.Anyhow, thanks for all the suggestions and sorry about not getting back sooner,I got busy last night.
  5. Hey guys,Replaced the ground cable yesterday. The one from the neg. post to the engine block(1990 MJ 4.0).While there I cleaned up the grounds and put it back together.Got in this morning and the oil gauge is pegged.Popped the hood and I had unplugged the sending unit when I did the cable.Plugged it back in and I'm still pegged.First question: with the key on the sending unit wire that plugs in the rear of the unit should be hot right? It is not hot,all gauges work except oil. What do ya'll think could have happened? Only thing I did was the ground cable that's it. Everything worked fine before I changed the ground,I did drive to to the Ace hardware unplugged, but that shouldn't make any difference, should it? I'm mystified in Texas.
  6. Okay, what are the best rotors for my application,2WD 1990 Comanche driven on the street.I just want it to stop better without the booster upgrade. Thanks
  7. Thanks, I've read all good stuff about Centrix apparently others don't feel that way.
  8. Hey,I'm ready to order some Centric rotors for the 1990 Comanche.Anyone have a part # ? Is there a specific one? It's not 4wd,does that make a difference? They have the premium on Amazon is that what I want? Also going to order Black magic pads is that the way to go. I'm ready, just waiting on some guidance. Thanks
  9. Came through there when I bought the truck.I picked it up in Tucson.
  10. Thanks,Where in Texas? I'm by Canyon Lake.
  11. Thanks that's what I was looking for.I'll google um.
  12. beat up? I thought they were softer, which color are you talking about? I was looking at the green ones.
  13. Hey I'm about to replace the front brake pads.I'm trying to get the most stopping power I can out of the stock set up,1990 2 wheel drive.Has anyone tried the EBC pads? Are they that good or is it just hype?I'm not looking to do a conversion, just want the best I can get out of the stock set up.Any suggestions?Would slotted rotors help? What pads do ya'll suggest? thanks
  14. What is WJ? I have a 90 also and any brake improvement would be welcome. If it is an easy swap I'm headin to Pick-A Part. Can you elaborate? 1999-2004 Grand Cherokee. The first round one. A Cherokee from 1995 or 1996 will have a similar brake setup that's almost a direct swap to your '90. There's a number of good threads on it in the "DIY project writeups" section. Thanks

  16. Thanks everyone for the feedback
  17. Hey guys, my alternator goes from about 14.5 to about 11 intermittently when the A/C is on.I haven't put a meter on it to get the exact numbers but you get the picture.I can't tell if it is when the compressor kicks on,but probably. Ya'll think it is just the main ground on the block or is there another likely culprit? Thanks for the help,I plan on keeping this truck a long time and I'm learning a lot reading this forum everyday......Thanks again
  18. 50 1/2 inches. 1990
  19. As to fuel additives.I had a 2003 Corvette and the fuel gauge quit working.I got on a forum and they said run a bottle of Techron thru it and start using gas with Techron added.I thought they were full of it also.I added it with about a 1/2 tank and in a couple of days the gauge was working fine.I continued to run gas with Techron when I could and never had another problem. That is my personal experience and I know it is true,so some additives will do something.Would Seafoam had done the same thing? I don't know, I just know that Techron cleaned the sending unit or did something enough to make the gauge start working again.
  20. I have an O'Rielly's SuperStart AGM.It is made in America (did the research when I bought it) by the last company still not outsourcing. I have had great luck.Stayed in cabin in Colorado with no elec. and used an inverter to run my C-Pap breathing machine at night.Ran it down pretty good each night and charged it when we drove around the next day. Had no problems and would start in the morning when it was in the teens. In my opinion a great battery for a fair price. Forgot to add it's been in the truck for 4 years.
  21. Thanks I'll check it out.
  22. Hey everyone,Quick question. Is there some way to adjust how far down the wiper blades go when you turn them off? When I turn mine off they seem too stop to high on the window.I can pull them lower manually to what appears like the right place but they always stop too high. Is this as easy as removing them and moving them lower? Or will that limit travel at the top when on? I know it's lame but just checking to see if there is an easy fix.
  23. How much was the Herculiner? I think it looks good.
  24. Yeah,I'm going to have them come out and install some on a couple of west facing windows on my house. The brand he used is LLUMAR.It has a lifetime warranty anywhere they install LLUMAR products.Seems to work really well.
