  1. I don't think I'd pull the head yet, but if you do, might as well go Full Monte. Your guess of some leaky valves is probably correct. Good luck!
  2. Great thread! Enjoyed your build and wheelin' journey.
  3. I'm running 4.10's and 31's. It's a good highway/trail ratio with a 4.0 and 5-speed. Here in the Colorado mountains at 8K ft. elevation where I live, the 4.0 runs out of wind so I think I'd regear for larger tires. It's a hot rod at sea level though.
  4. My '92 has 231K on the odometer. It passed Colorado emissions, runs 40+psi oil pressure above idle, and uses a qt. of Dino oil about every 1,800mi. So far it doesn't mark its spot in the garage since the valve cvr gasket was replaced. The only issue is a recently ticking lifter at idle. Gonna try a BG oil additive to see if it'll clean the varnish out of the offending bugger. Fingers crossed.
  5. Have been running 1.25" Spidertrax now for about 5K miles with no worries. When I bought the truck the 31x10.5's on stock wheels were rubbing everywhere. I've had to get the angle grinder out and barely trim the front fender liners. Depending on the lift and tires you plan, try to stay with the smallest offset that works. Your front end will thank you. All the best.
  6. Hey everyone! I have been looking for a Comanche for awhile and finally found this '92 sitting alone in the snow in Denver. She was a project for the previous owner and he did most of the things I would had it been mine. A little haggling and an exchange of Benjamins for the keys and title and I took her home. She has an 8.8 rear end w/discs, APN header, magnaflow exhaust, new welded in and rustproofed floorpans, Dodge Neon injectors for a little better throttle response, 4.10's, 31x10.5x15 Pirelli A/T tires, 5-speed and 4.0L. There's lots more but those are the high points. The Pirellis wouldn't be my first choice for a tire but they're very new and work better than I thought. Looking forward to learning about the truck on this forum and I am amped 'cause I finally own a Comanche!
