Well I moved away from Ft Bragg living in south west Va now. But the trails around bragg have always had signs up but always went out looking for Fishing spots. and thats the way around it. If you do venture out there make sure you take someone with you that knows the area because there are mpact zones out there and you don't want to wander into those. If a group on here ever wants to go out to Uhwarrie for a weekend ill make the trip back down.

I didnt think the 231 directly bolts on to the 904a transmission
-
yes it is full of fluid. can't switch to a 231. Its an 86 2.5
-
nope tried both suggestions. Still having the same issue. Looks like ill just have to drop it back out of the truck and see if it still shifts on the ground again. Unless anyone has any other ideas

I'm doing the swap to make my 2wd to 4wd. I put the transmission and transfercase in now the transfercase doesnt want to shift out of two wheel drive. It shifted fine on the shop floor before I put into the truck. (the linkage isnt hooked up in the truck yet I'm just trying to shift it from the transfercase its self.) The only thing that is diffrent that i know of is i plug the vac lines because I'm not going to be using them. Since I'm permently locking my front. Any ideas on what it could be? Would be helpful. Thanks

I'm looking for a 2.5 for my 86. I would prefer low mileage. I'm located in south west Va. Thanks for your time.

well my engine has over 380,000 never been rebuilt. timeing is way off. It idles high in park and in neutral and then barly runs at all when in drive, and everything i have done to correct it makes it run a little worse. it has blow by of course. And it gets worse gas milage than my f250 lol. Wife says i have to fix it or sell the truck. So I'm going to fix it. I wanted to go with a bigger engine. But being in the military i don't have much time off if any every so a drop in engine is my only option at this time.

Rear extended brake line
bmaley79 replied to 360MJDude's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I used the hose feom a 93 dodge dakota. It worked just fine and there is plenty of room for me to do the spring over now with no issues from the rear brake lines. -
First I have an 86 2.5l. I was changing out my pcv valve the other day and noticed when i got the rubber hose off the metal line that the meatle line was blocked off by it looks to be rtv or something. I tried to clear it out but no luck. there must be a whole tube of it in there. any ideas on what i can do?

Jeep Comanche! 89 Jeep Comanche original owner. In 1989 they had a recall so to speak, they didn't put catalytic converters on their Jeep Comanche's. Included was a new in the box, genuine Mopar catalytic converter. It has sat unused on the garage floor for years. The truck was posted on craigslist. Click here to see the ad as it was. Original shocks in the back from 20 years ago. You can guess what 20 year old shocks do...pretty much nothing! So every big dip in the road causes a series of 5 bounces. So I was looking into what shocks will fit at the wrecking yard. I will also get a set of add-a-leafs, a little more weight in the back can't hurt traction. The front shocks have been changed at some point, this will focus on the rear shock's for now. Here is a list of trucks that share the same rear shocks. 92-99 2wd Suburban 73-86 2wd Suburban 85-04 Safari/Astro 2wd van 90-04 Safari/Astro AWD van 70-95 fullsize chev/gmc van 80-96 ford f100/f150 2wd pu 82-94 dodge ram 50 4wd pu 83-89 dodge raider w/leafs 65-77 ford f250 4wd 69-91 2wd blazer/jimmy 69-87 2wd chev/gmc pu 85-95 toyota motorhome w/dually 87-95 nissan pathfinder 2wd/4wd 83-06 ford ranger 2wd 83-90 ford broncoII 4wd 86-96 dodge dakota 2wd shock specs: extended:22.58" Collapsed:13.78" Travel: 8.85" type:loop to loop
