I have a 1989 jeep comanche and I'm not getting any fuel at all in my fuel rail/rack I have replaced map sensor fuel pressure regulator fuel throttle position sensor fuel pump relay and fuel pump is all new i have blown out the lines and even replaced the E.C.U and still unable to get consistant fuel to the injecors !? But when i spray ether into the breather it starts and runs smooth but does not stay running i have checked all the connections and yet I'm stumped ? I have also manualy jumped from battery to the pump and it pumps gas into the rail but gthen doesnt start !! maybe because its flooded I'm guessing but thats the only way ive been able to get any kind of fuel pressure to the rail ! but needs to be done through the E.C.U ectt.... I'm needing anyones help who has knowledge of this same problem or simular ! Signed--------> desperatly in love with my comanche :)
  2. Cool down those tires those roads get very hot on them and by all means kick them every so often animals can make homes out of them !

  4. Basicly when i start it for the first few 15 seconds it runs smooth then it struggles to runn it shutters and putts ! ? its starts so it isnt coil and is getting fuel But not sure if its constant ? ive checked vacume lines ect ! any suggestions where to begin to resolve this ?

I have an 1989 jeep comanche rebuilt engine 4.0 / bored 50.over /is now 5.0 it has brand new fuel tank fuel pump and filter , new starter motor ,brand new on road off road wrangler tires rewelded floor pan , rear bed is from other comanche absolutley no rust couple dings .truck needs paint and refurbished interior , but is all in tact ,i also have extra tail gate , I'm trying to figure out how to post the pictures in this post but you can view the photos on my facebook page go to john r white from tampa fla ill see if i can post a link to it in here my e-mail is jrwhite3230@yahoo.com asking price is 2,500
  6. after clearing all the trim and the trim clamps sit inside the truck and put foot on windoshield and kick that sucka out ! being extra carfull you must where protective clothing eye gogles face shield and gloves ! you must take a piano or heavey guitar strings to cut away the rubber caulking around windshield first and then proceed to push out windshield !

  9. Here are some pics of under my dash drivers side wires and connections not connected I'm thinking maybe they might be for testing ? or connections for misc devices? I also took photo of engine compartment near battery that's where I'm realy having trouble maybe someone can Identify any wires if at all possible?I will Not give in I have too much money Invested into this truck ! brand new Tires new motor well rebuilt two years ago and hasn't been driven much , also brand new fuel tank and fuel pump but sending unit needs repair or replaced its not sending to fuel level gauge! it has brand new lifetime starter , new throwout bearing and pressure plate and master cylinder , brakes all new !! Ive rewelded entire floor pan and rear of cab on bottom of cab ! replaced the old bed which was rustedout due to bleach it was used in pressure washing business but the rest of truck is solid chasey no rust at all very solid now . maybe selling the truck ?? P.s having trouble sending pics
  10. Starter is clean its a life time and I just replaced it ! I will post some pics of what my wiring looks like its a disaster !!

  12. yeah I already re[laced the starter and did fine for about a week then did a store run went in the store came back out turned the ignition and only click click nothing so I pulled battery cable then tuned Ignition and it turned over then getting ready to leave I turned lights on engine shuts down ?so for meits back to square one turning stones over one by one ! I also think I may be having some other problems with engine as well I'm trying to get my self in an organized process of elimination state halol . where to go from here is answered easily . all Directions Point North !!

  14. My comanche wouldnt start back up after drivig it then turning key offand won't start afterwards intermitantly ? I pull battery cable and seems to reset it But then sounds like a dead battery (But Its new) and checks good ! sounds like just the solenoid clickingbut Not turning over then turns over after i pull battery cable back off and reset the igntion. then it starts but then i turn on head lights and engine shuts down?? i need to organise myself where to start to resolve this problem or problems ! The wire harness is all opened up and is a disaster wires undernieth dash that have connectors hanging don't know what they are ? Ill post photo of undernoeth dash and engine compartment if anyone could sorta see what I'm Up against ! I also need a schematic to followeach circuit if at all possible i would realy be thankfull! My heater isnt connected and a/c is missing condenser coil ! and radio is missing ! .
  15. How many compression strokes / revolutions for 4.0 6cyl to reach (tdc) and does anyone have wiring schematics for Ignition system from start to run
  16. forgive me guys I had lost my accout for a while since I posted the troubles with the atomic bomb that went kaboom in my commanche I'm back though trying to resolve it but maybe forget the whole thing and rebuild or maybe thinking crate engine or another used engine and rebuild it ??
  17. yes indeed ! I'm 54 yrs old and very experienced in so many engines cars of many types and never experienced such an explosion of this capacity everyone in a two block areah ducked out of site and even inside buildings police came from all over and it created a crowd, I had to explain to everyone best I could that it was my truck that made the explosion as I was sitting in the back seat of a sheriffs vehicle ! that's what happens when a conanche goes a stray !! everyone knows about it even news team came to investigate !!
  18. yes oil pan intact no oil seapage but oil is gone?/ but there is no trace of oil leaks too? couldn't hav burned all that oil !! my overhead would show carbon traces if that was the case I must be overlooking something just don't know at this point ? only thing I did find was the distributor cracked at the hold down bolt ! which I know eighther way is the cause of whatever got damaged but as I pull things apart I'm sure ill find more and more damage !
  19. yeah its still intact no leaks around gasket and no holes comming out of block no penetration in valve cover too and also i checked oil for water in it there was no oil but still i was there was no ol in the radiater eighther nor did i see any detection of water in or near the pan ill continue to investigate everything i thank you and everone here !! jrwhite3230@yahoo.com
  20. :thumbsup: :agree: i bought a new distributer and i did pull valve cover off but stopped at that point i looked for any signs of warpage without pulling anything apart but can't rely know without doing that on these engines so before i do that ill add some more oil and the new distributer .after i make sure its top dead center then ill install distributer ! see if it runs and check for any oil leaks ! then if no go ill proceed on rebuilding the top end and checking bottom end bearings /pump ect... also checking pan for any chunks of gearing or metal? . The oil displacement must have leaked out from oil plug !! because there is no way possiblefor it to leak out withou me knowing it this engine is surgicaly clean I spent 4,000 rebuilding it from bottom up. :doh: BUT maybe i shouldnt have said that because aparently somthing went amiss, I will keep you and everyone posted on it and ill follow yalls steps dilegently ,because mine has failed and I'm good at whaT i do
  21. Disaster struck !! I was driving my 89 comanche and all of a sudden the loudest Boom i ever heard, and it did it four times i thought someone had fired a huge shotgunn.and i ducked! But then My truck imediatley hesitated and wouldnt stop i rolled to the side and checked everything and found that my distributer was cracked at the bolt that holds it in place. I bought a new one and replaced it. and i pulled my valve cover off to check push rods but havent yet completed this. I also found that there was no oil But no signs of leaks and it never smoked .this engine was rebuilt in 2000 ,and never smoked.I'm not sure how the oil leaked out. i also want to know if i should check my timing chain and gear? and should i pull the head and have a valve job done and replace any warped pushrod's ect... at this point what and where should i start? . the engine when i hand crank it to check compression seems extremly hard at compression stroke is this bad sign or is it just the compression suppose to be this hard to handcrnk it??
