  1. IDK... I'm gonna stick with my big 4 but my mom had a 69 Dodge Dart with a slant 6 and that thing ran forever.
  2. want to buy the breather elbow for this 2.5L aluminum valve cover must be in good shape.
  3. Got it done :) Been driving it for a few days looks good no leaks. Got that crappy Fram filter off and my new Bosch one put on too. Here are some pics .
  4. Polished it inside and out with mineral oil and emery-cloth. Thats your old VC Harley. Cut out a gasket out of ABC1835 Cork / Rubber Rollpack
  5. Hmmm idk then. I know when i first got my Comanche the rear wheel cylinder was leaking and i had it fixed and the old fluid that leaked out combined with dirt caked up on the inside of the rim and had to be scraped out with a putty knife and rebalanced. idk what the exact cause of your tire wobble is but it sounds like a tire out of balance. i know sometimes with the style rims you have got you got to get in the inside of the rim really good with a pressure washer because mud and debris can get caught in the inside grove of the rim and cause the tire to become out of balance. You might even try runnin a putty knife around the inside of the rim...idk just throwin ideas out there for ya... hope you can find out what is causing that wobble. I like your hood scoop. I'm out here in Woodland Washington just patchen up this old Comanche i got.
  6. Sounds like you got a tire out of balance. You might have lost a balance weight or have some dirt packed in some were you can't see
  7. Well I'm looking for an aluminum one that is in good shape that will fit a 1990 Comanche 2.5L if any one has one for sale. Just let me know what you want for it and maybe send a pic or 2 I'll pay for shipping cost
  8. I did the swap out for aluminum. Good bye plastic :waving: Looks good no leaks
  9. I know they make them for the straight six. But yeah i did not know they made them for the 4 banger. Maybe they did back in the day but i don't think they do anymore but then again idk.
  10. I hate plastic too. :fs1: Who ever decided to make them out ABS plastic injection molded should be smacked up side the head :thwak:
  11. well the one i tried to get at quadratec was $39.99 plus shipping and it was the cheapest i could find. $40.00-$50.00 i think would be ideal for me but if not maybe we can work out a deal. I'll meet in the middle of that and offer $45.00 plus shipping cost
  12. Yeah hi Harley I'm interested. Let me know how much you want for it.
  13. I'd be a happy camper. Thats one rare find.
  14. I had my valve cover gasket replaced by the 4x4 shop down the street here and all was good for a while then I started to notice it leaking more and more oil. So I went to pull the cover off and noticed that my suspicions were correct the cover was cracked were it bolts on. No biggie I thought just get a new one. Even being disabled I can definitely handle putting a new one on myself. So I ordered one from Quadratec it was the right valve cover but did not fit on right and was apparently warped on the straight side after contacting their customer service they said no problem we will send out another one and they did just got and tried putting it on but the pre-made gasket beed was not lining up with mounting surface and i was not even going to try to put it on as it would have leaked all over the place. So I'm sending this one back too.I got the new gasket before I found the old cover was cracked thinking it would just need a new gasket...so in my looking for new valve cover I have found that none of the online vendors have one without that pre-made gasket built in. Which I think is a great concept but there is no way of making sure its going to mate up right. So I am looking for an old school used or new valve cover that is in good shape without that pre-made gasket crap built into it as I have the new gasket and want to install it the right way. . :MJ 2: .
  15. Oh yeah been there done that. Except i screwed mine up trying to adjust metal rods so it would open easier and then would not open at all. Had to get the guy at the 4x4 shop down the street to fix it for me.Thank god he did not charge me for it. Thanks for the topic. The hood pins sounds like a good idea though. So I think ill do that at some point in time. in the mean time I'm gonna lube my hood latches and hood release with some good old vaseline i have a big jar of it so...
