There are a few people who have swapped this engine & trans setup in to jeeps, mostly TJs, since the wiring should be similar. There isn't an aftermarket harness made for this engine, you have to use the factory harness. I looked into doing this in my YJ, but decided not to.

park/corner/indicator light issues

I'm having the same problem with mine -
Finding an aftermarket one is not a problem. Finding a used factory one is a problem, most of the ones I found were really damaged. You could use the aftermarket one, it may fit perfect, but mine didn't. If you have the patience, you can probably trim an aftermarket one if that is the route you take. I had to trim mine, but I tend to get a little impatient and trigger happy.

Go to a junkyard for your header panel and find a late model harness, and cut all the pigtails off. A factory header will line up much better than an aftermarket. You don't have to do the bumper, but if you do the fender flares, you would probably want the bumper to match. Don't forget to add parking lights and side markers to your list. You don't have to use the later fenders, but the older style won't line up well with the new header panel. I don't have any detailed instructions from when I did mine, but it is real easy. Start at the front, unbolting headlight buckets, working your way to the back of the fenders. Then you'll get a fell for how everything goes together. One suggestion, don't tighten any of the bolts until you make sure all your body lines match up and the hood clearance is good.

D@mn, you got more in your tires/wheels and paint than I got in my whole truck!

Once you pull the rotors off, you'll be able to see the ebrake shoes. Probably wouldn't hurt to cut them partially off, but I wouldn't completely remove them.
-
sorry, I missed 8.8. The backing plates on the 8.8 also have the e-brake shoes, so I don't know about doing away with them.

The fenders are different, but the hoods are the same. You will need a new headlight header and headlight doors. I found the parts pretty cheap on ebay. I replaced the fenders, header panel, grille, headlight buckets, turn signals, and side markers. Hoods are the same. You can use the stock fenders, but they don't have the same contour as the header panel. I bought all of my parts aftermarket, brand new parts really cheap. You will also have to do some work to the wiring harness for the headlights, turn signals, and side markers. I got a complete frt harness from the junkyard, spliced the new plugs onto my factory harness. The only thing I would change, I would get a factory header panel from a junkyard. The aftermarket one I used didn't fit very well with the hood. I couldn't find one at the local yard that wasn't damaged.

Looks good :D

Mine is from a 97-01 and it bolted right up. I take that back, one or two of the bolts on each side wouldn't line up.

Everything is for sale! WHAT?! Is it in the classifieds? No, it isn't listed in the classifieds. I was just stating that everything has a price that it can be bought for. If you are serious, make me an offer. All I can say is no. Right now the truck is in the shop having the oil leak fixed, it was so bad you could watch it running out. I didn't have the time or patience to fix it, so I'm having it done.

Everything is for sale!

I'll get out to Moab one of these days, but I won't be in the Comanche.

I'm running out of niave friends to take with me, they've heard too many stories. If they've never been wheelin, I usually scare the s**t out of them pretty quick!
-
I wouldn't mount them in the fenderwells. You're in TN right, you will get in the mud, and they won't do you any good by the time you need them. Mount them high inside the frame, behind the frt bumper, or in frt of the rear bumper.
-
Unfortunely, I wheel, not take pictures. I can usually con one of my friends to go with me and take pictures, but not this past trip.
-
I might would take the commander truck instead of the rescue if they'de put it on a 1 ton frame. Who do I make the check to?
-
Fenders are staying as is in last pics. Now I just need to fix the oil leak and start driving it again!
-
It crossed my mind to put rocks under a comanche, but decided against putting them under something without a frame! Don't worry though, a rig is being built in our shop right now w/ 2.5s, 6.0 vortec, th400, 203/205. I'm not going to tear apart two perfectly good dueces to rob the axles though. They are way too much fun to drive stock! Oh, and if you want to see damage, I'll upload a couple pics just for you, but no more damage to comanche yet. I need to keep a somewhat straight body on something I own.

Header panel, grille, headlight buckets, turn signals, marker lights, fenders, and wiring pigtails for the lights. If I left something out, I'll think of it later.
-
That one was kinda tricky, I missed it also. But when you reread it, it says what year did production begin.

Had the intentions of keeping the body straight on this one, but if you ever saw my YJ, you'd know that would never happen.
