you could get a temperature gun to check againist the gauge . i looked at my sons freind xj it was showing 240 on the gauge . but it wasnt boiling over any put new sending unit in it still showed the same . i figured the gauge was off and told him to get another instrument panel.my temperature gun said it was sitting at 200 .

the clutch is not disengaging enough to slow down the the trans so you can shift . thats why it will go in gear while its not running . -

mopwrd340 replied to centralnc's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
be thankful they could be using gorilla snot or indian head gasket shellac . you should see how hard that is to get off. :grrrr: -
havent checked yet it will run great when floored . just seems to stumble below 2000 rpm what should the pressure be at when running.

i just purchased a 93 cherokee yesterday and after running it today it stumbles when you put your foot on the gas to take off . didnt do it yesterday when i got it if you gradually tip into the throttle stopped or rolling it won't do it . I'm thinking tps am i headed in the right direction. it is a 4.0 aw4 thanks :wavey:

because the truck only has 65000 miles on it and i already have the gauges and nothing else to put them in.
-
I'm going to mount some mini gauges in my truck on the r/side of the inst panel . where do you all put the mechanical sending unit for the temp gauge . i was thinking of getting a thermostat housing for a ho motor . and see if the sending unit will go down in there. tell me what you all think thanks. :dunno:
