i already pulled up the carpet and absolutely NO RUST. not even surface spots. And yes its A LOT easier to park than my deuce. I just called the guy and asked him if he wanted a Deuce and he said sure, so title for title we traded. Except today I blew an oil hose while sitting in traffic so I got it parked right now and driving my other MJ.

Gonna keep it completly stock. The diesel does get about 40 mpg highway and 35 around town, and I don't wanna ruin that with a lift. Plus it really doesn't have any get up and go, its very slow so a lift wouldn't help even with the stock 4.10 gears. But I think I might put a CB in it and my toolbox in the bed.

I have about 10 Comanche Decals I have pulled from ones at junkyards. Along with other ones that vary from 4.0 Litre to Wagoneer. Just shoot me an email and I can send you some.

Well, because of my shoulder injury I can't drive my Deuce and a half so I decided to sell it and ended up trading someone here locally for a 1986 Turbo Diesel MJ. It only has 144K miles on it, NO RUST!!! and is in all around great shape, everything is original except the gear shifter, AM radio still works! and it still looks great on the inside. I've been driving it around for about a week now and I'm still on 3/4 of a tank. Great gas milage.
-
Whos gonna tow it? But I keep it locked up in my Shop yard where I work. By the way, here's a link to it starting. Its so loud

here's pics of the Deuce. I got a 35 from the junkyard, paid $50 for it and got it installed in my buddys jeep. Now I've got 4 blown 35's in the bed of the Deuce, anyone need axle shafts?
-
Not really, I haven't done anything to it except park it since I had my shoulder surgery. I can post pics though if you want.

I have a 1988 2wd AW4 came out of an XJ that I'm selling and they guy wants to put it in his 1998 XJ that is the same setup. Will this work? I'm pretty sure it won't but I want to double check with you guys first. Thanks.

I'd like to. I'm a really big fan of model cars, I just happened to have a block of wood with wheels attached to it laying around. Maybe I can make enough of them and sell them to pay for my surgery.
-
Yeah its kinda hard to highlight the wood with one hand, it kept rolling until I finally put it in the vise, and I tried to make it as close to my avatar comanche as possible.

Take in mind my right arm is in a sling and I have little to no use of my hand. So all this was done with my left hand which was not easy because I'm right handed but its driving my crazy not to wrench on my MJs. So I had to do something and this is what I ended up doing. I thought it was pretty cool.

I always see TJs and XJs on trucks and Xtreme but they need to show an MJ. Anyone wanna submit it to them?

The downfall of our educational system?

I never used mine once. From middle school through college. All my books and everything stay in my truck box.

Who even uses a locker still?

Psh, I hate being eighteen, my MJ's insurance costs $100 per month, with another $70 per month for the mustang, and that's state minumum.... Sorry :hijack:  Keep the MJ as a lawn ornament until you need to tag it. I'm 20, have 5 jeeps, 2 trailers, a 38' Chris Craft and a Deuce and half all insured through USAA and I still only pay $200 a month for everything. Although only 2 jeeps run, I live on the boat and my deuce is parked because of my shoulder injury, I can't stand not having use of my right arm, I can't drive any of my comanches because therye all 5 speed. So I have my own little Village of Vehicles in the Marina. Sorry. :hijack:

I recently tore my shoulder and had to get surgery that puts me out of work for 6 months with no pay. I worked 40 hours a week, 5 days a week, and have always done good for myself, now that I'm out of work, I've lost my house, had to move onto my boat and sell pretty much everything just to save for a long haul, but my neighbor who has 3 kids, no job, and deals drugs out of her house just bought a brand new lexus. :huh???:

Do the x-clamp mod. Its less than $10 bucks and it fixes RROD. I did it on my elite and I haven't had a problem, and that was over a year ago. Search X-CLAMP mod on youtube. Trust me if you do it right it works great.

transmission question....May be a Duh!??
Rebelfish99 replied to javelinkid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes you can change the tailhousings but the output shaft may have to be cut. I just changed my AW-4 2wd cherokee to 4wd without changing the tranny, just the tailhousing. So you have to take the tailhousings off both transmissions, measure the 4wd and cut the 2wd to the same length with a saw-zaw and then file down the edges. Thats what I did and mine works great. But I used to work at a transmission shop so I have no problems tearing one down. But be careful cause the shafts HAVE to be the exact length. -
Just turned 20 years old today, with a metal knee, both rotator cuffs torn, 4 shattered disks, lost my sense of smell, and 7 broken fingers, all in the last year.

I need door locks for both my MJs so I can lock them, but advanced auto and autozone can't seem to find the right set for my 88 pioneer or my 86 custom. Does anyone know if any locks will work from any other cars will work? We tried to match up locks from a GMC sonoma and it was close. Thanks for any help -Brenton

I can do gears myself, I just next the whole axle so I can get it inspected. The axle in my comanche is so messed up its not worth fixing. Is there any axles that would just bolt in so I could at least drive it? -Thanks Brenton
-
I just recently purchased my second MJ and it needs a rear axle, it currently has a Dana 35 thats all sorts of messed up. I have an 87 Jeep Cherokee and a 99 Grand cherokee both for parts, but neither axle will work, the grand cherokee is coils and the cherokee is sprung over and I need a sprung under Dana 35 or whatever will bolt in. I have cash or I can trade parts off both my jeeps. Please call me if you have anything that will work or if you know what axle I can just bolt in that would work. I can pay to ship as long as its less than 100 miles or I can pick up. Thanks everyone. My cell number is 757-717-8813

My first MJ build. VA build up

So what would be a good front axle other than a D60? They are so hard to find in my area. And the only ones I've found the people want like $800 for them each. I want an OX locker up front, I won't deal with ARBs, I've seen nothing but problems with them. But OX only makes thme for Danas.
