  1. my baby... love this truck to death... seriously
  2. jftimbo: ive got 4 door XJ buckets in my MJ and have a ton of room behind them... i can put a duffel bag behind my seat. granted ive never been in a MJ with bench seat so i don't know how much room is there. but ive got plenty. anothing thing to consider is the buckets sit a little higher i think.. if you're much taller than 6'1 your head might hit the ceiling in my truck
  3. what the ()*^$^ i didnt know that could happen? and what about driving in park?
  4. i don't know if I'm feeling the bucket seat all that much. it does give lots more storage room and posibility of a XJ center console but idk i think id like the bench too... anyone give me some reasons the bench is always getting swapped? (or is cause all of yall are tired of the wives? lollll just kidding) thanks in advance -nick

    rollbars ^_^

only thing bout the ebay one is the chrome... ugh
  6. parallel parking? i took my drivers test in an ASTRO van! (mom's XJ's reverse lights/horn don't work) NSS cleanin time! NICE FAMILY! we used to have 2 XJ's a Grand Wagoneer and my MJ in my family
  7. were you runnin stock tires at the time? (sorry I'm badgering you bout it but it nags me constantly while driving) -nick
  8. i figured itd be one H E double hockey sticks easier to find XJ doors with fold out truck windows and power everything than it would be to find this combo from a MJ but do XJ doors FIT on a MJ? i assumed they will but don't want to end up with a pair of useless doors.
  9. i have read that swap write-up more times than you could possibly imagine. I'm leaning more towards the NV3550 just because it seems to be a better choice, and i found a complete swap package at high-impact.net for 1,995. which seems like good deal to me. the AX15 would do 'er though, and i might could locate one cheaper too. main problem is it being DD and not having tools/space to work on it. you think itll last (at stock height) if i "kitty-foot" it?
  10. haha, thanks for the advice -nick
  11. my 89 sometimes grinds into/jumps back out of 4th (only gear it does it in) and it never (knock on wood) happens when shifting from 3rd into 4th only when I'm downshifting from 5th and or if i accidently put it in 4th (which i don't think it would matter what gear the tranny is in if the clutch is in?) if i go a round-a-bout way into 4th from 5th it won't grind i've noticed if i go in N then up almost in 3rd then into 4th itll be normal... something to worry about?
  12. hey pete.. this is totally off topic, but... do you still have the origional BA10 in your 88? how did (or does) it hold up... the one in my 89 has bout 173k on it but seems fairly good, i was wondering just HOW bad they really are.
  13. I'm assuming that this is just assumed by everyone else but, just to get it out there you did say you didnt want to mess with the front at all, but you know you'll have to if you regear. don't eat me or anything, just making sure. lol
  14. quick question, any help is... well, helpful. lol. background info: 1989 4.0liter MJ 4x4 BA10 head and block replaced with 97 head and block, all renix systems, just 97 block and head. closed coolant system the question: 97s heat sens. was in the thermostat housing, 89 was at the back of the block, my heat sensor is in the thermostat housing, and is a 97 unit. would this cause my temp to read high? like 240-250 high? cause if not... I'm burnin up my baby here. (tried putting a meat thermo in the coolant bottle and running it that read like 190-210 but i wastold that won't give accurate readings)
  15. so if i buy a kit with the bellhousing and all that will it still mate up to my 4.0 i6? i wouldnt think the bolt pattern on the engines would be different and does that mean floorboard modification if the shifters are different?
  16. yeah, i was lookin at a kit on advanceadapters or highimpact both came with new input gears for my np231 so i wasnt real concerned about the t-case splines not matching you say XJs had different 3550s than TJs? is this cause for concern or is it just shift characteristics and the like? thanks for the advice -nick
  17. anyone else blessed with this amazing peice of french engineering? i've decided id really rather not wait for the BA10 in my truck to crap out and looking at tranny swap options the NV3550 looks better than a AX15. anyone tried/done this? any opinions on which is better? (AX15/NV3550) -nick
