  1. Home depot sells hard plastic sheets. I assume most other big hardware stores do too.
  2. If this goes any further I can give you a hand. I live about 20 mins out of vancouver so I can pay him a visit in person if need be :D
  3. So you extended the bumper brackets even further back than those bracket plans off of naxja eh? What about gusseting?
  4. yeah I've been thinking about making my own bumper, I'm just not sure if my welding skills are up to making it. I was also thinking of having a bumper with recovery points on it.
  5. So I got stuck last night wheeling and had no front recovery point and partially ripped off my stock bumper. Now I'm in the market for a new one. Can anyone recommend one? Probably one on the cheaper side of things... Thanks
  6. Yep it was the fuel pump thanks On a side note my truck was towed improperly a very far distance when the fuel pump was failing. It was towed from the front end with no tow dolly on the rear wheels so they were on the ground. The tranny (auto) was in N but the transfercase wasn't. It was probably towed about 120kms (75 miles) at about 100km/h (62mph). I'm guessing there's a good chance I have some damage to my transmission and transfercase?
  7. Hey guys the truck is having some problems. I was on a trip about 300kms from home and my truck started to stutter. I could accelerate very slowly fine but anything more than 1/8 throttle and it would stutter like crazy. I thought it might be the fuel filter so I had that changed but it didn't work. After a while the problem got worse and the truck wouldn't want to go more than 40km/h cruising or 20km/h up even the slightest incline and would stall every so often. I Think the fuel pump might be intermittently working but the problem now is that the truck's throttle will surge now too with my foot off the gas. Anyone have any ideas?
  8. I had a similar problem to what you're describing and after a couple hours of trouble shooting I found that the "return to park" wire was shorting to ground. So if all else fails try checking your wiring. here's the procedure so you don't have to figure out what all of the wires are http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl669e.htm
  9. Does anyone know the current price for the 2000 intake manifold ccv fitting in the US? its jumped up to 74 bucks in Canada, and around 150 bucks for the entire package, and I'm not too keen on paying that much.
  10. I'd just like to say that 18awg is definitely NOT a large enough wire to accommodate 55W headlights. Sure, the wire might be rated to carry 10 amps (which many are not, depends on the wire you have) but wire has to be de-rated for the conditions its used in. You have to take into account voltage drop, ambient temp, wire spacing, etc. I wouldn't run anything smaller than 14awg for anything you're using.
