Project bulletproof: 88 MJ short bed 4x4
cluricaunne replied to cluricaunne's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
noise wise, power is about the same, and it is still as loud, but not as loud in the cab, the noise is now back toward the rear bumper where it belongs. Update on the project, almost have the ex's crap out of my garage, a few things left to go to charity (no sense wasting the stuff) and then move the stuff I don't need to the upstairs storage. This should be done this weekend, then I will have a garage to put the MJ in, and start the tear down, I doubt I have any rust to worry about, I live in the NW, it never dries out long enough here to rust... lol... but we will see what happens. I have everything I need to complete her except the diamond plate sheets ($350 on ebay for three sheets of 4'x8'x1/32") the paint, and some new vinyl for the dash and other random interior pieces. I do still need to get a lift (prolly just 1.5") and I want to get some 31x10.50 BFG AT's. -
hooray for 360's and big collars... lol... that's awesome... I kind of almost want one...

I was thinking about creating an MJ based theme for the PS3, as it is customizable to whatever I would like, are you saying we already have one on here somewhere??
-
I am planning on making a comanche based PS3 theme. When I am done, I plan to use it for personal use, but I could upload it to the web if there is interest, and if I have permissions to use pics??

Well, just after the dump run on Saturday, I went and put an exhaust pipe on the Jeep. The exhaust is not just a glasspack under the passenger seat now... world of difference... -

Okay, it's been a while since I posted, and I have nothing new to report yet, except that I have a shop, I'm making a dump run this weekend, have to get a bunch of lumber next weekend, and then the teardown begins. I am really excited that I am finally going to get some work done on my truck... -
I use the gas at the native american casino about 5 miles from me, they don't use any ethanol in their gas, and all of my vehicles run better on it

1979 Ford Fiesta : I paid $50 for the thing, and got exactly what I paid for... lol

I can't believe I haven't introduced myself here earlier... I live in Shelton, and I have an 88 MJ short bed, 4.0L factory 4x4. I have lots of plans for her, but little time to play, I started a build thread, but haven't done any mods since to update. Paule

T case issues (there's a surprise)???
cluricaunne replied to cluricaunne's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
awesome, thanks guys, pretty much what I figured, but thought it couldn't hurt to check. Now I just have to get my lazy @$$ under the truck and fix it... lol  -
Okay, I know that I have the puke goat 5 speed trans with a 231, not sure if I have a 35 or 44 under the rear end, but I seem to be having issues getting the tcase to engage. I pull the lever to put it in gear, and about 10% of the time, it works like it should. The rest of the time, it drops my entire drivetrain into neutral, and the only gear I can get results out of is 2H. Anyone have any ideas on where I should start looking for a problem (I'm thinking the linkage, but who knows??)

Do be careful, AAC (All American Classics) over charges by a lot. I work at a wrecking yard about 1.5 hours north of you guys. I have heard a lot of complaints from other customers that we send down there.

I would definitely be open to a meet n greet, that could be really cool... -
I just replaced my pump too... took me twenty minutes, didn't disconnect the drive line, but I am small enough I was able to sit up between the wheel well and the drive line so that I was staring right at the pump assy... this is my second pump in the last year, when this one goes I am going to drop the tank, and scrub the inside of it.

did some modifying to the front, I like the way it looks, still needs paint, and as soon as I get a shop, I can start tearing down the inside. -

:needpics: That being said, until I get the chip for my phone (another day or two) I can't post the pics of what I did this weekend. I did get a hitch receiver put on, new header panel, grill inserts, and a new push bar. As soon as I put the fenders on (I know, should have done that while the header was off, oops) it will be ready for paint. -
I am guessing the warranty is a 30 second, 30 feet kind of thing, I suspect the truck might not make it much farther than that with it's current problem
