  1. the crankshaft sensor was unplugged when I checked it, plugged it in with no results, so I replaced it with a new one.
  2. fixed the grinding starter, new coil, new starter relay, new crankshaft position sensor, new cap and rotor for the distributor, and I still can't get spark, running really low on ideas, any suggestions guys?
  3. gonna have to check, had one of my buddies do the head gasket for me, still no spark though, new distributor, can't get her to spark, and the starter is starting to grind for some reason...
  4. Hey guys, don't know if anyone has an idea, but that's what we are here for, right? So, recently rebuilt the fuel system because she was running rough. Finished the job, and discovered a blown head gasket. Changed that last night, everything is plugged back in, and now she is not getting spark or fuel. I can hear the brand new pump kicking on, but there is zero fuel at the rail. Squirted a little ether (starting fluid) in the intake, and she still won't fire, indicating no spark either. I am going to swap out the ECU (I love working in a salvage yard) and see if that fixes the problem, but does anyone have any other ideas in case that doesn't work?
  5. One headache after another, faulty fuel pump, bad alternator, blew out the fuel pressure regulator, and just when I though I had all of that fixed, the head gasket blew, damn my luck...
  6. I would start by checking the local yards for the ZJ coils springs, should be quite affordable that way.
  7. sweet, congrats man
  8. Easiest way to get this one is to remove the 7mm screw that sits in the middle, between the two plugs, and then remove the two #3 phillips screws from the fuse box on the inside of the truck, the whole thing will then come right out. You may have to wiggle it a bit to get it off from under the master cylinder, but should be an easy job.
  9. Today is the day of truth, driving her up to the tire store to get the tires balanced, and then to work. I still have a lot of cosmetic buttoning up to do, but she is road worth and street legal again. I will get pictures of the interior as soon as I finish it, but my project nears completion...
  10. Dash and harness are mostly back together, all of the lights are working properly, and she's running and driving great. A couple more plugs, a few screws, and I can put her back I the road, I am so stoked...
  11. small pic update, she's come a long way from where she was...
  12. It is a mini, 1979 Canadian model Austin Mini...
  13. Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while, been busy with another project, though you guys might like to see it:
  14. Okay, my camera is officially dead, making the picture taking close to impossible at the moment, but I have to get pics up for you guys. Assembly is down to wheels, antenna, flares, and the interior. She is almost done, and should be fully finished (sort of, still need to order the diamond plate) and back on the road in another week or so. I know the update is useless without pictures, so I will see what I can do in the next day or so...
  15. I work in a salvage yard, made parts easy to find, but I recommend 87-92 Cherokee 4.0L with an auto trans. I used the block and pins (with minor modifications to a couple of them) haven't finished installing yet, but seems to have gotten the job done nicely...
  16. I discovered that a pair of lowering shackles from the parts house will lift the rear of an MJ about 2.5 - 3 inches. Hooray for budget lifting.
  17. got my donor truck yesterday, 3 inch lift, but I need to modify the rear to work with my plans. 20k miles on the aisin trans, and custom yj t-case. Has a 97 YJ dana 35 rear end, and front to match, with 4.10 gears, and only about 50k on the axles since they were rebuilt. Should be a good score, only paid $250 for the whole truck, and now I have lots of work to get done. Will get some pics up soon, promise...
  18. very awesome build, I really dig it, makes me look forward to finishing mine even more... I have a few different things to do with mine, but I am glad I'm not the only one Hercu-Lining my truck...
  19. As soon as the weather clears up, I am going to get back to work on the truck. Will start updating in the near future. It's actually Black and Hemi Orange... but I will get those pics up soon...
  20. Thanks, been on hiatus for the winter... procrastination sucks... The box came out of any 1987 to 95 Cherokee, but I pulled it from an automatic, so no chance of clutch master cylinder leaks... lol... and then just took my time putting everything back together...
  21. the leak is usually in the firewall, so you won't notice it. As for repair, I took the extreme route and completely rebuilt mine, you can see it in my build thread. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=17707
  22. Well, I haven't taken pics yet, but I got the nose back on, and I will get pics up in the next day or two...
  23. I finished the headlamp harness, and put the nose back on, just need to strap in the bed, put the tank back in, finish some misc parts, get the bumpers on and do all of the inside. Also discovered that my heater box (suitcase) is thrashed, so I am hoping the 95 Cherokee I have at work will fit as a replacement...
