Fuel pump fixed the "Hose" ran it wed night.. it was ok.. thur morning no go. Sat fri while I did other things Sat buddy tried to drive it to my parents. Made it 2 miles and it died. Dropped the tank. New Pump.. runs like a champ now. I wonder if I can get a tank to fit UNDER my truck box.. and run the filler up into the box. -

filter was changed Tues... first thing I did. Sat.. dropping the tank.. again. -

AMC place is www.amc4x4.com (Jeep parts and stuff.. smart people) Got the pump/sending unit out.. found hose disconnected.. replaced hose (was a chunk of black rubber/string) Ended up dropping the tank to get it all back right.. it ran last night ok.. but gauge is reading PAST FULL and not moving Today I drove it a bit.. and it's spitting and sputtering.. almost didn't make it home. going to go borrow buddy's Toyota.. and put this on hold till sat.. Plan is to Drop the tank.. again.. and pull it all down and replace the pump.. Did look inside the tank..and it's in almost perfect shape.. no rust no floaters.. nothing.. just clear clean gas. -

got a Fuel Pressure testing guage. Turn on the truck.. whine of the pump.. and.. pressure is at <5lbs Talked to my guy at the AMC place here in town.. and he seems to think it's a small hose.. in the tank.. that connects the pump and sending unit. jtdesigns mentioned it. Headed out to check into getting the ring off.. and pulling this.. it's 99 in the shade here right now.. I am 6'4" and about 320.. I am one BIG sweaty dude right now.. what fun. Putting up some tarps to TRY to shade me.. but.. yeah.. this is just not fun. Did I mention I work on computers.. inside.. with the AC on? Just wanted to reiterate that fact. -

Going to grab some carb cleaner.. throttle body was kinda grimy.. gotta see if I can find/borrow a pressure gauge. Is 40#'s right? low?? High? Guess I am going to be reading up in the Chiltons tonight. I think everyone is good at one thing in the world.. and mine is NOT car repair.. :D :mad: -

HAHAHA.. yeah.. like when I told my dad I could install windows.. and he had me help him put in Dual Pane Sliding glass windows in his house.. Ok.. so.. how do I know.. CPS.. or Pressure regulator? or.. Trial and error?? or is there a sure way. and how hard is the CPS to get to.. -

How do I attach a gauge to the fuel rail? I think I saw 40#'s?? and the CPS? Crank Positioning Sensor?.. where? How? Computers.. I understand.. Car's.. I try.. yet fail. Images.. good.. Took the day off tomorrow.. just to fix this -
Left work last night.. truck started.. went about 1.5 miles and it died. Has not started and run since. So far.. Changed out fuel filter (New Fram Filter) Disconnected battery for 30 min's. Left key in ON for 4 min's I shot the video just a few min's ago. Hope is that the audio will help with idea's Headed to work (Have to be there today) I will check this later tonight. Video is at http://www.kenschneider.com/comanche/startingproblems.wmv just under 4mb in size Any idea's.. any help.. Anything is great. I am a computer guy.. really.. I am at a loss here. Also when I put the key in ON.. I hear the Fuel pump go about 10-15 seconds. I assume that is to build pressure in the line. Also I have pressed the schrader valve on the fuel rail and do get release of a small amount of fuel there. Hoping it's not the pump. that is not an easy fix.

Please excuse my inner geek :D First.. Antivirus.. AVG AVG AVG 10 years.. no problems and have put it on over 1000 computers for friends family and customers. Partitioning.. YES.. Do it. C Drive is for your OS (windows) and maybe programs. Another partition for your "My Documents" (Personally the My Documents folder on my main pc is 80gb) Another partition for WTF else you want/do Reasoning is this. If your windows install goes south.. you don't loose your my documents. I have done this to a few hundred machines and never regreted it EVER. getting ready to re-load my sister's pc.. her My Documents are on a separate partition so no need to worry. Install xp.. and point the folder. To point your My Documents folder. Right click on it. Properties and change the destination. Happy computing

Work is 2x17" LCD's. Most reps get 1.. I am Reseller Specialist so I more or less sit where I want and I prefer 2.. get.. twice as much work done.. I mean.. Work on 1.. CC Forums and admin stuff on the other. At home I sit behind my 24" Dell LCD. have had it like 3 years.. paid 1200 on it.. it's beautiful.

So after spending hours looking at my Netbook (8.9" Screen) and doing some research it seems that most of our spam is from one of two places First the "RIPE" network Second is the "APRIN" network These cover a few area's.. RIPE is in the Netherlands. It covers Europe and parts of Western Asia. The ARPIN is based out of Austrilia and covers the Asian Rim and most of Asia and the South Pacific. So far I have come across 1 user who could not log in. I blacklisted every single range of IP's I could off these 2 networks. (85.1.1.1 to 85.255.255.255) So if you HAVE issues.. or hear of anyone with them. PLEASE email me with the Username and the IP. I will clear the range if it's needed. I don't know if you guy's see the signups.. but when Pete opened up the email I was getting an average of 20 per day. These where from the APRIN or RIPE network. My next big thing is more back end. Going to upgrade the Visual Recognition requirement. Also looking at adding a "If you are human type "I am Human" in the box" feature. Something to stop the current round of spam. As always if it causes issues Pete or I will roll it back. Here's to a Spam and Bot free board!! :cheers:

Headed for the local Jeep JY this morning. I talked to them yesterday.. the Valve is $20.. but going to look for a new Master Cylinder and booster.. maybe even a double booster???

Ok.. I have an idea.. I could be 100% wrong but? I am thinking that when we "Recompressed" the Caliper Piston it caused something to go bad in the Combination Valve I am basing this on the following image: http://econtent.autozone.com:24999/znet ... pg/1.image Now.. anyone know where/how to get a replacement one?

As far as I know and can tell all is stock. From everything I can see/tell on it the Rear Height Snesing valve and the Proportional Valve are OEM and have not been modified. I know that sitting still I can pump the brakes and they do hold. they do not leak or loose pressure. I will have to get it over to my dad's house this weekend to check if wheels move when brake's are applied (Live in an apt with little working space). How do I "Reset" the brake failure switch? Now this is what I have found when I drive in a empty lot. get truck moving to about 20-25.. put the tranny in neutral. I press the brakes. Get response at 80% or so.. at 90% "POP" and the e-brake light comes on. I bring the truck back up to speed. pump the brakes 3-4 times and apply with pedal at 40% of travel. The E-brake light goes out and I stop. Sorry if I come off sarcastic.. really been a rough few weeks here. Just came from a funeral.

This is the steps we took Wheel off. Pulled the 2 Allen head bolts Slide the caliper off. Took off the Rotar. Took off inner pad Popped the top off the master cylinder Used the old pad (Really just the metal backing at this point) and a C Clamp to compress the Caliper piston. Had to take some fluid out of the Master Cylinder as not to overflow it. Replaced the inner pad. Put on new rotor. replaced outter pad Set Caliper in place and put back in the 2 Allen head bolts Repeat on other side. Never took the lines loose. I have checked the level in the master cylinder yesterday and it is full. I have checked for any leaks in lines and find none I think it's a vacume issue. Going to look at a new master cylinder as well.

Any idea for the "No brakes" unless I pump them to build pressure?

Ripped into this last night.. Issue was just that..Inner pad on front right had worn down and was metal on rotor. Killed the rotor. New parts: Pads 15 Rotors 2 for 50 Brake cleaner and hand cleaner 5 tax 5 total 75 Now I have a new and fun issues.. Truck starts.. runs.. I go.. and I have no pedal till 80% of travel. I can pump it and build pressure but it doesn't hold Idea's? Also when I do hit the brakes I can slow it but there is a definite "POP" and the E-Brake light comes on. I will reiterate I am a computer guy.. not a mechanic in any way. I do my stuff myself to save my $$$ but I loose my mind.

I am having some serious issues. When I try to slow and stop I get a horrible vibration.. grinding.. and only what I can describe as the sound of a train wreck on a small scale. I am thinking.. (Since I swapped the odd rim out on the front) That I have 4 wheel drum Autozone.com says I have front disc. 87 Comanche 6cyl 4x4 any help would be great. Going to try to look tonight when I get home.. but it will be after 12 and rather dark.

Been a hell of a week.. Monday was ok. Tues started with a trip to the ER for the wife.. 5mm Stone in her left kidney.. Hung out till noon.. went home for an hour to sleep.. work till 22:30.. came back to hospital.. then home.. sleep.. wed.. hospital.. work.. hospital.. home.. sleep Now thur... at hospital.. headed to work.. then back.. So.. PM me any thing that needs fixed.. I'll try to get to it.. may be a delay but know I am not ignoring yall. Thanks -Ken
