Yes it is going in a 1990 2wd soon to be 4wd. I am just trying to get all of the parts before i start. Clutch kit slave cylinder trans bushing. I already have the transfercase and driveshafts

Is there any differance between 1998 wrangler ax5 and or was there even a 4 cyl in a cherokee in 1998.

Do you think it would be easier to take internal bellhousing and retainer front bearing and swap it. Then just have a internal slave cylinder on the ax5.

It is plastic it was out of a wrangler. So i have to get a98 cherokee slave cylinder the wrangler will not bolt up.

yes i do have bell housing and 1998 clutch kit and slave cylinder. I didnt if or how the slave cylinder lines would bolt up .

How hard is it going to convertover and what other parts am i going to need.

I have a 1990 2.5 . The power steering hose was leaking so i tride to tighten. I broke it know big deal until i took some kind of sensor of the power steering. It broke so do i need to replace this sensor or can i bypass sorry i do not have pictures

Correct it is not in vehichle. I went car-part and there is know 1995 transmission or transfercase. That will bolt up to a newer (1998) transmission or transfercase. I have the 1998 transmission and a 1995 transfercase and everything turns when bolted up. I was just wondering if that is good or going to be bad.

Do you know what year that might be. The transfercase is a1995 231. Everything does spin when bolted together. Not in the vehichle though.

Is there any way to tell if a transmission or transfercase will not work when bolted together.

One last question i hope. Will the 207 linkage and shifter work on the 231 transfercase. Thanks

So will pre 1995 transfercase work then. I also herd something about front bearing cover on the transmission has to be replaced. Has anyone herd of this.

I am in Arnold Mo (st.louis) I just went on novac conversion web site it said Anything newer than 1994 the input shaft is 14 spline and the stick out lenght is 7 1/2. Is that becaus it is a external slave cylinder.

I did try car-part they were from $550. on up. I need a 21 spline for a 1998 ax5 if that matters.

So what is a average price for a 231. The cheapest i can find is $600.00 for a 1998 in missouri.

To be safe just get same year transfercase as transmission or did they change in middle of year. Also what is the differance in transfercase shifters 1990 and 1998. One is from a 207 mj and the other one will be from a wrangler.

What is the differance between a 2.5 and 4.0 transfercase. Besides 21 and 23 splines and can you change it over. thanks
