  1. now it will not start unless i give it gas, then it idles terribly.. but it will stay running.
  2. hey guys, been having a lot of issues with the jeep recently, replaced the alternator, it was throwing a code, that issue is fixed. However, right after I replaced it, it threw a coolant temp sensor code, replaced that and I'm still having issues. When I drive, say I accelerate up to 25 mph or so, when slowing down, my idle still stays high until I come to a complete stop.. this can't be normal right?
  3. I read what the codes mean, but I figured I'd get an opinion from some of you guys.. my rig is throwing a 41 and 17 code, guessing that means I need to replace alternator and thermostat?
  4. Please fix the front grill cover. It is upside down. lmao, I was thinking the same thing
  5. you're right, It took me forever, bleeding it kicked my @$$.. but finally have clutch pedal pressure.
  6. Probably nothing to ground breaking, I'm just started to learn how to work on my MJ, a few months ago I replaced the CMC due to it leaking onto my fuse box, thought I fixed the issue, but it's infact the slave cylinder. Replaced my slave cylinder, bled it and everything, but there is still not much pressure in the clutch, so I'm guess the bad slave cylinder made my "new" CMC go bad.
  7. nevermind, got my answer
  8. Thanks guys, gonna start the bleeding process soon.
  9. So I recently replaced my MC and Brake Booster because I saw my MC was leaking pretty badly into the brake booster. I bench bled my MC, tried bleeding the brakes but it seems like they are still too soft whenever I am driving it.. No problems when the car is off, brake pedal is firm. Someone informed me that there is a specific bleeding procedure for comanches, if that's the case, what is it? I did the classic, have your buddy press the brakes then open the bleeder valve, then close it and tell him to let off, but there still seems to be air in the system. I bled the Passenger's Back Wheel first, then Driver's Side Back Wheel, Passenger's Front Wheel, then Driver's Side Front Wheel.
  10. Gene, I feel like an idiot.. I went up to the auto parts store and bought two 2057 bulbs, put them in and it works fine.. I'll never listen to the manual again.. God, makes you feel like an idiot lol! Whoever wrote this manual needed to be fired, he cost me a lot of time and dignity lmao. Btw, I appreciate all the help, Gene.
  11. Quick question. So I was reading a little bit on the forums, (http://comancheclub.com/topic/41500-mj-light-bulb-list-led-replacements/ this to be exact). My manual told me that the Turn Signal Bulb is a 1156 bulb single filament. So, that's what I purchased.. Am I supposed to have two 2057 bulbs in the back instead of one 1156 (on top for the turn signals) and the 2057 on the bottom?
  12. Thanks, now I can take that out of the equation. lol
  13. So I tried looking for the ground, and I found a disconnected ground (I'm guessing idk), judging from the way the wires run, it grounds both tail lights. The thing is, when I connect it to the ground, it instantly blows the fuse. This is what it looks like. This is the other side.
  14. Alright, so I took out the bulb in question, I turn on my left turn signal and it works good, except that my right turn signal faintly blinks (front and back light).. If I turn on my right turn signal, it works perfectly fine.. the left side just stays off. No faint blinking or anything..
  15. Thanks, Gene. That was one of the first things I did, I checked the ground that is behind the back-right tail light and it seems to be fine, I took it off to see if there was any corrosion, none. Bolted it back down and still having issues. Is there any other grounds I should be aware of?
  16. 1991 Jeep Comanche 2.5 I4 Base Model I know there is probably 100 other topics like this, but my problem is kind of different and I can't see to find anything that is exactly like mine. So a few months back, a back turn signal light burnt out on me, didn't think anything of it, replaced the bulb, and that's when my problem started occuring. I looked in my owner's manual and found the correct size bulb, but for some reason when I pulled out the old one, it wasn't the size that was recommended in my manual. So I figured, well I'll just put the correct size bulb in there and it should work. Wrong. Since I've put the correct bulb in there, when I hit my turn signals, they either stay on(stay illuminated on the dash), or they turn on my hazards IN THE BACK, but up front my blinker lights are working. If I press my brake when I have my turn signals on, everything comes to a halt. No turn signals, no hazards.. nothing.. I've tried changing bulbs in the back, tried different patterns, but nothing is working. Could a simple light burning out cause my turn signal switch to go bad?
  17. this made me laugh so hard... made my day
  18. :rotf:
  19. god you lucky dog... I'm lookin at a junker right now 550 bucks.. if worst comes to worst.. I think it's worth more than that in parts! You got any pics of your rig?
  20. I recently got a 91 2.5l 5 speed in April and it was pretty tough the first time around, but I just kept getting back in it and trying to drive the thing.. I'd say the toughest thing for me was definitely getting the feel for taking off.. Other than that.. I wouldn't hesitate to get it.. It is a blast to drive. I'm not even sure what transmission I have, I guess the ax-5.. I'm new to this whole thing but trying to learn.
  21. Alright, so I was fiddling through some wires and I found this wire (pic will be down below hopefully..) I followed it down and it goes near the o2 sensor.. why is this not plugged up and if it should be what should it be plugged into?
  22. Went outside today and did a few things to the comanche, including cleaning the IAC valve.. Was really dirty.. I cleaned it.. reinstalled it.. started her up.. and I could notice a difference in the idle but the revving problem is still there. Guess I'm gonna have to do the other stuff y'all mentioned.. and hope it works! Thanks for the help btw and for the link.
  23. Well, I would like to do my own repairs but if it gets too complicated and needs specialty tools to do then that's is the only time I probably won't try to fix it myself. Yea, I'll have to invest in one of those.. probably order one tomorrow lol..
  24. got everything changed except rear diff fluid... gonna change that when it stops raining... if it ever does lol
  25. battery died a few days ago because I was running the radio without starting it.. could that do it too? Yep. But since this is new to you, do yourself a favor and get new tuneup parts on it, check every gearbox level and grease the chassis and drivetrain. Will do, I wouldn't know where to start with the distributor cap though.. Is there a manual that I can get somewhere to help me do all this stuff that gets a little complicated?
