I'm pretty sure its gear oil. My other 88 has a rear main leak and it runs down the back of the oil pan and I'm not loosing any engine oil. It looks like its coming from where the bell housing and trans mate

My 88 mj 4x4 with the ba10/5 is leaking and its right over the exhaust so it drips on the pipe and burns off making a $#!& load of smoke. I don't have the time money or facilities to pull the trans and fix it properly or change the trans. Is there anything I can do to stop the leak so I stop fumigating everything every time I drive it?

I just bought another 88 mj pioneer and it has light blue interior with a bench seat and I'm looking for a blue center console and bucket seats to put in it. looking in either driving distance from birmingham AL or Wichita Falls TX. also looking for a full gauge cluster for the truck. let me know what you got.

Replace the hose that goes from the master to the slave and bleed the system. That's probably why the fluid is black. I had the same problem with mine. -
the shimmer turned out to be my zinc additive a when the motor was rebuilt a high volume pump was put in. it only hit 80 psi when it was less than 20 degrees outside but at normal operating temp it runs between 40 and 60 psi.

It's time to start redoing the suspension on y truck. ive already decided that i'm going to get the hells creek metric ton leaf packs and v8 variable rate zj coils. I'm not planning on a lift any bigger than what the leaves and coils give me and then 31's. The truck is going to continue to be my daily driver with maybe the occasional light wheeling so what does everyone recommend for shocks?

What is "the right stuff"? I made the mistake of putting gl4 or gl5. Don't remember which and it tore up my syncros and bearings. Which is why I need a new trans

How many miles can I expect to get out of a ba10? I need a new trans for my truck and I can get a ba10 for a lot less than an ax15 and money is kinda tight right now. If I'm just doing normal everyday driving what would the life expectancy be?

its been a while but i ended up figuring out my issue is just valve seals. 650 mile trip at 75-80mph for 10 hours and didnt burn a drop of oil and it only burns when i first start the truck and its cold.

Looking for a Comanche near Wichita Falls Texas. Prefer 4x4. Not really particular on year, drive train or bed length. Only stipulation is no 2.8s. I prefer 5 speed but would settle for an automatic on the right set up. Just looking for something as a DD and weekend wheeler. On a budget of <$2000. Has to run and drive. If it needs work that's fine. Let me know what you got.

I have 80psi of oil pressure, when I step on the gas I hear a rattle. It misses at idle it has low compression and burns a rediculous amount of oil and when I changed my oil I had a metallic shimmer in it like there was metal in it. The only reason I'm asking about the 4.2 is because I can get from my buddy for nothing. I plan on pulling the motor anyway to do my 4x4 swap and paint

Looking at my options for motors for my mj. I think my 4.0 is a bad rebuild and was wondering if a 4.2 from an 89 yj would swap in? My buddy has one that I can get fairly cheap. Any ideas what it would take? I know at least the intake to go to fuel injection from carbed

The original ba10 is starting to fail on me so I'm looking for an ax15 4x4 trans with a 231 t-case, cross member, trans mount, bell housing and shifter. Let me know what's out there. I'd settle for a low mileage ba10 for the right price but ideally I'd like and ax15 or even an nv3550.

Anyone ever rebuild a high pinion Dana 30 for a Comanche? I have a one that had bad bearings and ring and pinion. How hard is it to rebuild?

I don't remember the part number. I exchanged the for the exact same pump but I think someone returned it because the pump that worked was wrapped in plastic and had caps on the top and bottom and the other one didn't. It was an airtex pump from autozone

It was the pump. The new pump I got was no good. Exchanged it and now the truck is back on the road
