Replacing Slave Cylinder in BA 10-5

ive had to do this multiple times. my biggest problem was the retaining pin and washer to hold the slave to the transmission itself. i ended up drilling the hole out and tapping it to 1/4x20 bolt. havent had a problem since. -
just swap in a full cluster from a cherokee or comanche with the same engine and same year group. ive done this on all 3 of my mjs. if you have idiot lights you have to swap out the sending units. if you have guages already just swap the cluster.

Truck has been at a stand still for the last year. Went to basic training thanksgiving of last year and then 6 months of tech school, and now I'm stationed in japan. Slowly ordering parts for my truck so when i go home and open the garage it will be like christmas. Planning on going with 3.55 axle ratios, chrystler 8.25 rear axle with zj disc brakes, nv3550 trans with 231 t case, v8 zj limited variable rate coil springs, hells creek metric ton leaves, 31s, and working on building a motor. 4.0 bored .030 over, with 4.2 crank and rods. should be about a 4.6 if I'm not mistaken. havent decided if i want to swap to wj front brakes or not. Not an off road rig but itll be a work horse of a DD. -
have an extra motor that needs to be rebuilt sitting on my garage floor and was doing some research on what kinds of things i can do to it. Does anyone have any information on using the 4.2 crank and rods in a 4.0. from what ive read it strokes the engine to a 4.5 or 4.6. Has anyone done this? Was planning on get a master rebuild kit with new pistons, having the block bored .030 over, and getting a new crank and cam anyway.

I never did get shocks. I got stationed in japan for two years so the project is kinda on the back burner. I'm slowly ordering all my parts to finish my build (well it will never be finished). Still havent decided on shocks. been doing alot of research latley.

i have a class IV, i think thats 4? I don't anticipate towing more than 5k. just a pop-up, occasionally a small bass boat. just want to make sure my rig will be able to do it.

ive been wondering the same thing. I have an 88 comanche 4x4 with a 4.0. The suspension and drive train is basically brand new with no more than 10xxx on any component. It has an nv3550 5 speed d30/8.25 axle combo with 3.55s with 4 wheel disc brake conversion and wj brake booster master cylinder, hells creek metric ton leaves, and complete 98 v8 zj steering and front suspension along with bosch 3, 4 hole injectors, and aluminum 3 core radiator with dual electric fans, and 31x10.5r15 goodyear wrangler at/s tires. I don't really want to get a bigger truck because of insurance and gas mileage, but i am looking into getting a small camper, or pop-up. What should my max be for weight when looking to tow with my rig?

ba10 stuck in gear after topping off trans oil

I got it. I had the shifter in part way a juggled it around a whole bunch as my buddy rocked the truck back and forth and it fell into place -

Its in 5th gear. I can't get anything to move. There is nothing to pry a screwdriver against -
so i had to top off the oil in my trans and i filled it through the shifter hole. I put the gear shift back in and now it is stuck in gear. I can move it back and forth but will not go into any gear and if i try to start it with my foot off the clutch it will lurch. is it possible that the shifter came out with the trans in gear? if so any advise on getting the trans back in neutral so i can get the gear shift back in the transmission correctly?

re-drill where the trans and t-case mate? is that so it doesnt hit the floorboard of the truck? -
I have been slowly but surely trying to make a list of all the parts i need for my 4x4 swap in my 88 mj. ive decided to go with the nv3550 trans over the ax15 and I'm curious if anyone has done this swap and what all needs to be changed since its a newer trans. any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm looking for a tonneau cover for a short bed mj with a factory roll bar. I've seen a couple of them but I'm not sure if they were custom made or what. Anybody have any information on it?

88 4.0 5speed randomly dies

It's a 5 speed. And I thought about the BR but it only happens when I'm slowing down and don't have my foot on the gas. It didn't happen at all today and I drove all over the place -
Well I've had the new truck for about 2 week now and the last couple days I've been driving it, it will randomly dies. Usually when I have my foot on the brake. It stats back up every time but it's starting to do this more often, it has don't when the truck is warm and cold. I've never had this issue before with my other 88 4.0 and I'm not sure where to even begin to look. It also will idle extremely high sometimes when I start it back up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just got another 88 mj last weekend and I've been trying to get the bugs worked out. When I turn on my headlights the dash doesn't light up. I've checked all the fuses and replaced the bad ones, my tail lights and brake lights and everything work. I've tried messing with the dimmer switch but that didn't work either? Anything else to check before I go to replace the dimmer switch?
