I finally got around to checking the extent of the damage of the passenger side motor mount breaking. Looking from the passenger wheel I see that 3 bolts have sheared off with the shaft of the bolts still in the holes on the side of the engine block. Before I get to work on tryign to get them out I was wonderign if you guys knew what size bolts these were so I can pick some up. Thanks, -Will

I am not even sure if it is a transmission problem or not. I was coming home from a camping trip yesterday and while heading out, down a gravel road, I hit a pothole doing about 30mph. This immediatley made some noise under the hood. I stopped and discovered the guard over the fan came loose and was getting knicked by the fan. I removed the guard and inspected the fan and it appeared to still be running properly and wasn't off balance or wobbling. I started down the road again and when I attempted to go into 3rd it was VERY difficult to get in there. Once I got off the gravel and onto paved road I discoverd that I could get into 4th with no problems but I absolutely could not go into 5th. I pulled over and stopped. Here I held in the clutch and procedded to go through the gears. 1st - Goes into gear fine, but now I notice that it seems to be "OFF" it feels more like where 3rd should be. Hmmm 2nd - Same as first. Goes in fine but seems to be shifted to the right a little. 3rd - Struggle to get it to go up into gear and I am holding it there. 4th - Goes in fine. 5th - AINT HAPPENING. Gave it all I could to get it Over and Up and it isnt going. Reverse - Again.. It is not going to happen. **A little more about 1st being "OFF" Before if I was in Neutral and let go off shifter it would rest almost staright up. I pulled to left and went up into 1st. NOW. shifter seems to be leaning a bit to the right and when I pull left to go to first, when the shifter get to the "Straight up and down" position that is as far as it goes. It feels liek it is hitting a wall. From here I can push up and go into 1st gear with no issue. No noise or struggle to out it in gear. I have no idea what has happened. PLEASE HELP!! -Will

Question for DirtyComanche...
shagtn replied to Catatonic Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Emotion/Tone can be hard to display in a post and even harder to pick up on the other end. I asked for an explanation only because I wasnt sure if I was reading the post correctly or not. That is all. -Will -

How can you justify your attitude? You ask for an opinion----> several are given----> Apparently not the answers you were looking for----> You get upset! That doesnt make sense to me. :???: Please explain. -Will -
HAHA I filled it out for S&G's and I got accepted. Now we will see if they are willing to do. I will have to tell them to shove it if they want me to lower it and put low pro tires on my girl. I will keep you posted. -Will

Thanks, I will get some pics this afternoon when I get home and see if the current setup is sufficient.

I am talking about the large one at the front of the cover. If it is not PCV, then what is it called?\ -Will

Thanks Eagle! She is going to be my DailyDriver, not a trail rig, once I get everything running smoother. However she will not remain totally stock. I am going to put a 3" lift and some 31's under her.

When I picked up my MJ in January the hose coming from the PCV was basicly just laying on top of the engine and would start spitting oil out as the engine warmed up. I Ran this hose straight to the Air Filter housing as a Temp fix and this past weekend I removed the hose and replaced it with a new rubber grommet and a breather filter and capped off the hole on the back side of the air filter. I am curious if there is anything that I have over looked as I do not want to cause more harm than good with this setup. Thanks, -Will

Disregard I found my answer in: 'to anyone wondering what 31s look like on a stock 4x4 ...' next time I will stay awake while sitting at work reading forums. :D

Will a 31x10.5 fit? As far as I know they are stock rims Here is a side shot Is there more info needed? -Will
-
Thanks for the info guys. No worries about a band-aid fix, I don't have it in me to do that. Ends up costing more in the long run when you half @$$ it. Besides that, I drive my kids around in the truck and I don't want them in something 'unsafe'. Call me crazy. :D I am sure it will all be replaced within the year anyway. -Will
-
I was afraid that was TOO obvious and admit I was fearing the worst. Thansk for the input. -Will
-
When I get to about 55mph the entire truck starts shaking violently and I have to slow down again to get it to stop. Other than that it drives smoothly. But I can't get on the highway with this slow of a speed. I know this is vague but do you guys have any clues?

Well it only took 3 months but I finally got some pics to show. :) Gots to love the oxidation on the hood!! The complete pic list is at: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2277886 -Will

Excellent ..thanks guys. I don't think the threading is stripped, I just rounded off the Hex Head as I was trying to break the pin loose.

I should just run by his house one day while he is at work and take the ones off his CJ that he has just sitting in his field rotting. See how he likes that. :D
