  1. I can make my own; I was just trying to see if anyone knew the dimensions of the holes while I was at work. So I could plug the right ones in. then I could have gotten it cut out on the laser. :ack:
  2. This is an isometric view of the plate that I’ve modeled. You can see how I have it on an 8deg plane. The inside red sketch line is to show the 62mm bore of the throttle body. As you can see I have thrown the holes in there, but I don’t know the precise dimensions.
  3. So I was thinking about boring my throttle body to 62mm but I would need a new plate. I know there not perfectly round they are more of an oval shape, because they are sitting at 8deg inside the tb. Or so ive been told. i was wondering if any body could give me a few dimensions. I need the diameter hole size and the distance from hole center to hole center. I have bored the taper off of my throttle body for my Comanche but its at my buddies house. I didn’t want to take the one off of my xj to measure it, but I will this weekend if no one can give me the dimensions I need. So if any body has an HO throttle body laying around and some calipers hook a bro up.
  4. If I had to do it all over again, I would do this!!! It’s a heck of a lot cheaper and faster mod. And it looks b*@$£’n!!
  5. That seems like a nice easy fix, but will that cause the tires to wear any faster? It’s too early for me to think straight…
  6. After converting most of my jeep over to 4wd I was under the impression that the only way for me to actuate the front Dana 30 was to get one of those cable kits. I was going to ask if there is a way to do this using my existing vacume system. Sorry this seems like a dumb question I was just going to see if there is a quick fix instead of dishing out $190 for a cable. :ack:
  7. My catalytic converter has been making all sorts of radling noise and with 235k + miles on it I'm sure its hurting my performance and gas mileage. So this weekend I tried to remove my catalytic converter from my 98 xj. Witch I was unsuccessful!!! I unbolted every thing then I yanked, wiggled, shooked, beat, kicked, and I couldn’t get it to budge. That damn thing is on there for good. I was planning on hollowing it out. But I just can’t get the dang thing off. So I didn’t hook up the o2 censer on the catalytic converter to see what it would do if I replaced it with a straight pipe. I drove it maybe 10 miles or so yesterday with out the o2 censer plugged up and I didn’t get any lights on the dash. But this morning the light came on first thing. I just filled it up this morning to see if there is any difference in the mileage would be. I didn’t disconnect the battery, so maybe if I did that for 30 mins it would make the light turn off on the dish. I have read that a lot of people have had no problems with running no cats but is there an easy fix for the dash light??? By the way I live in south Carolina and they aren’t too stricted about running with out a converter around here. :ack:
  8. mine hits toooooo. damn that rattleing!!!!  i need every thing new so ill get them to fix it at the shop. :wall:
  9. So I guess in a round about way CWLONGSHOT just answered my question. A hollow cat or no cat with a freer flowing muffler destroys your low end torque!!! Dang, I really need to do something with my cat, because you can hear the stuff raddle around in it. I may just gut it this weekend and let y'all know the results!! :ack:
  10. I feel stupid asking this but the turbo style mufflers are the ones that has some sort of fiberglass in them right? Do you think you would have enough back pressure with a freer flowing muffler like flowmaster style. I'm planning on gutting the cat on my xj because you can hear the junk radling around in it. I wanted a flowmaster or something but I don’t want to loose my low end torque….

    New ride!

    nice find!!!! :clapping:
  12. Here are some pictures of my new jeep. Well new to me jeep! I actually bought this jeep from my sister and her husband. They bought this jeep brand new so I’m the second owner. Even though it has 230000 + miles on it. I got it for a great deal so its ok to me. Ill probably rebuild the engine and transmission over the summer or next winter but for right now its fine. The heater core is stopped up a little. I took the hose pipe and rinsed it out a little the other night and then I put some cleaner in it to help un-clog it. I figured I will try to clean it again Sunday. It worms up enough to get by but its not quite cozy yet. It was 14 degrees when I got in it this morning but after about 3 or 4 miles I wasn’t shacking anymore. :rotfl2:
  13. Breeze1 how many psi can I go up to using the factory fuel system. NONE!!! Not being able to do any modifications to your factory system means no boost, no larger injectors. That’s why you use an FMU. They build up your fuel pressure with out your computer knowing it. Its basically tricks your computer, and it doesn’t know its there. You will have to run a larger fuel pump, to compensate. But no need for injectors, because your jeep would run very rich at idle. With the fmu you will get more lbs out of your injectors than they are rated at. And that’s fine. I would only run low psi at first. You probably won't be able to exceed 5 psi before you get detonation. Then you would have to get a timing retarder then you may be able to squeeze out a few more psi, maybe 3..??? theres only one way to find out for sure. The main thing is watch your air/fuel ratio!!!! I know 5 psi doesn’t seem like a lot but 1 psi = some where around 10hp (depending). That’s real power not some cold air intake gives you 30hp junk!! Keep researching, you can't research it enough… :smart:
  14. I’m planning on doing a remote mount on mine. Ive don’t tons of research. There are a few guys that have turboed the 2.5L with a simple fmu and inline pump, gauges, turbo and so on. I’ll be turboing mine this summer. Its not as complicated as its put out to be. Plus your like me I'm only looking for a few psi. We’re not building a supra! So you can use cheaper parts, fmu’s, pumps, bov, turbo, wastegate, ext…. Good luck man! o yeah, you won't need to get into all that megasqirt for a few psi!!
  15. Does anyone have a clue of how much radiator fluid it holds all together?? or is there a cleaner you can run in it??
  16. Whats up guys, well I just picked up a 98 xj from my brother in-law. (It has 231422 miles on the ticker) It has been having problems with the heat! Let me tell you some of the past history on it. Twice it has rusted out the freeze plugs, and we use to flush the motor and radiator to get the heat working again. But now it doesn’t seem to work as well. Could it be that the inside of the block is rusted up and its not being able to heat as well??? Or do you think I need a new heater core?? When ever I needed to get rid of some rust on some old bolts or something I use to mix up one part molasses to ten parts water and it works as a rust remover. I was thinking about mixing up a batch and putting it in the radiator for a week or so. it takes about a week to eat a good portion of the rust away. I think the sugar eats the rust, I'm not really sure how it works but I know it does from past experiences. What do yall think I should do!! Ill post some pics up of it soon. When ever I can get home and its light outside! :ack:
  17. Just think what are the guys going to do to your truck next time you go through valet parking???? They might not cut every thing off!!!! :chillin:
