    what is your DD

My DD is a C4. Not much better than a MJ, but I gets great gas mileage if I'm good to it and 300hp on tap!
  2. thats what i was thinking, maybe ill do a DIY wright up on it. :typing:
  3. I don’t have any of the vacuum lines to go to my axle so I wanted to lock it up the poor mans way. I need info on how to lock the fork in 4wd on my dana 30. Ive seen it on here before, but I couldn’t find it. I can’t remember correctly but I think there is some kind of clip you take, slide the fork over then put the clip back in. Could someone post a link for me if you know where one is? I need to do this to my jeep tonight. A few of my buds have been asking me to go to gulches orv park with them in the morning. So I want to fix this before I go. Ill post some pix for yall.
  4. It doesn’t deactivate it; it can’t calculate it correctly with larger injectors. It will be off a cretin percentage, I guess I could do a math equation every time I look at it!! but that’s no fun! :smart:
  5. I was planning on running the megasquirt for the fuel only. Do you think my gauges will go crazy and lights on the dash come on if I leave the factory computer in just disconnect the fuel management part? I haven’t seen any xj with 360 in them. Well ive only seen a picture of a blue xj with a 318 sitting in it. Odds are they just swapped every thing over, engine, tranny, harness, ext.
  6. Ok, I did some more looking around and I think my transmission is a 30RH. I haven’t seen any one adapting this to the 5.9L. Could it be as easy as changing the bell housing or would I have to get another transmission? My goal is to re-use the transmission I already have.
  7. I know this isn’t a mj question, but I don’t feel like joining another forum to ask this especially when I know there are folks on this one who know the answer to my questions. Well first of all I want to say don’t give me too much flack about this, but I want to put a 5.9L in my xj! I was going to stroke my 4.0l but my overhead display wouldn’t be correct any more. ( that may not sound like a good enough excuse but I really like that thing). So if I'm going to loose that I should at least put something in there thats going to make some real power! No doubt that the strokers make a lot of power but all I would have to do is put a cam in the 5.9l to make the same. I have a 5.9L out of a dodge ram in the shop so I was thinking of using it. I would use megasquirt for efi. But I do have some concerns about the transmission. I have a 98 xj classic 4.0L auto. I can't remember what the transmission is I think it’s a 42r-something. But would I have to do a shift kit in it or would the transmission still shift with out the jeep computer running the engine? Or would it even bolt up to the 5.9L, I'm pretty sure it will though? I know a lot of yall are thinking that I will have over heating problems, I plan on getting an aluminum radiator for this. Heck if those Dakota pickups and grand Cherokees can run 5.9l why can an xj or mj?? :dunno:
  8. yeah, it would just be cool to hear one.. i have to rebuild my 4.0 in my 98 xj soon and i was looking around at cams. ill probably go with a comp cam.
  9. Is there a cam to put in my jeep that will have a slight lope?? Ive looked at all the comp cams and they say smooth idle. That’s all good, but I wish I could hear a jeep with a little lope. Not too much just a tad! Do yall know any body that makes one or have a video of one??
  10. just ckeck the forum ever other week and that should help you!
  11. It basically takes up room in the shop! And that’s about it!! But it suppose to be a weekend wheeler except ive been busy doing other things on the weekends! I drove it all last week and it got over 20mpg!! Yeah!!!
  12. that one looks cool but its too much junk! I'm looking for something that easy and works! my jeep dosnt over heat! i just want to know the easyest way to wire it up.
  13. I hate to ask this, and I have looked around. I want to replace my clutch fan with an electric one, and I wanted to know a simple way of doing it. I though I have seen in the past that some folks just wire the power wire into the existing electric fan. I’m not to sure about this!!??? i didn’t know if the best thing to do is to get one of those kits that will kick it one once it reaches 160 deg or wire it into a switch that will make it cut one as soon as the jeep is started. Any ideas guys??
  14. Well I'm not as impressed as I though I would be. I feel like it should flex a little bit better in the front. The rear is bottoming out the passenger side shock. I pulled the jeep all the way up on top of the truck bet but the rear driver side tire was coming off the ground. I can change my shocks around and it should help me get a little more droop in the rear.
  15. i just so happen to like the name "dingleberry"! nice mj!
  16. nothing that jb weld and a case of beer can't fix!
  17. got beef?? nice rig!!
  18. I need to make an anti rap bar for my rear sprung over axle. But I wanted to know if any body knew of the best way to do it. Is it better to put it on the driver side or passenger side? How to make it so that it won’t limit the flex I already have? I'm not sure but the ones I have seen are shaped like a radius arm upside down attaching to the top and bottom of the axle, while the other side of the bar is attached to a shackle.
  19. i had the same problem check my build!
  20. YALL HAVE TAILGATES?????!!!!! :huh???: :dunce:

  22. My jeep has been idling around 1500 rpm’s, so I read about folks cleaning there throttle bodies to stop the high idle. With it being raining and nasty out side I decided to give it a shot. I disassembled the throttle body and put the peaces into some carb cleaner. After a good twenty to twenty five minutes I removed the parts from the cleaner and wiped them down, then re-assembled the throttle body. Maybe if I would have left the parts in for a day they would have came out looking cleaner. But in a few weeks I plan on installing my newer HO head, intake and throttle body. Well I thought the throttle body was kinda dingy looking until I installed it. I guess I didn’t realize how dirty my engine compartment was. To my amazement the high idling was a thing of the past. Now she idles some where around 750 to 800 rpms. No sputtering or anything, just a nice quiet idle. I wish I would have done this sooner.
  23. t-case shifter out of a TJ. the links don't work though. Ill have to make some i guess. i picked up a front drive shaft this week. the gears and lockers work great. i couldnt be happier!

    MPG?

Mine isn’t running right and hasn’t had a tune up yet. It idles at 1500 rpms so that doesn’t help. Its gets 15mpg as is, with 4:10’s 35” tires. My goal is to get it in the low 20’s. I am about to swap to an HO head, intake, 62mm throttle body, & better exhaust. I think that should help drastically. O yeah, ill give it a tune up also. :clapping:
  25. I just got the fixed ones. The bushings and joints seem to be great. I have to say it’s the first time ive ever put any kind of front control arms on and there was no hint what so ever of death wobble!! i drove it around the block a few times with out the steering stabilizer on and it was great! No shimmys no shakes no nothing! :clapping:
