  1. Maybe if I posted a photo of the connector someone could send me one from their parts truck :brows:
  2. Thanks for the info Husky, I had planned to do as per Jeepcomj's thread on this but it sounds like the connectors can be difficult to find matching. I was hoping someone might have had a part# for the connector. I'd really like to avoid having to hack into the existing loom if possible!
  3. Hi Guys. Does anyone know where I can buy an electrical connector block to match the existing one that sits under the bed rear left? I'm planning on making up a plug & play wiring extension for my trailer but I don't know where to find a matching connector block :hmm: I would go down to the local wreckers and grab one if they hadn't gone out of business taking their three(!) Comanches with them :fs2: Thanks in advance

  5. Thanks for that offer Lee. I'll get a shipping quote and see how it looks.
  6. Ohh! Decisions! :) thanks for input guys. Looks like Nate's is a good option, I thought I'd be looking at more like $600 for a bolt on but $250 is affordable. Cool!
  7. Cool, I'll take a look at the Fey gear. Thanks for the info sir.
  8. I like your thinking :) I got the skills but I ain't got no shop though for fabbing & welding :( I'm hoping to find something ready made + ball hitch point. Still, it may come to that, I guess I could use some angles and stuff to attach to the frame brackets. Thanks for the idea mr J
  9. Hi guys. Hope you're all having an exciting lead up to Christmas :) I'm looking for tips on sourcing a new rear bumper for Diablo. I got a 12ft tinny fishing boat with trailer this summer but I can't tow it because my bumper is slowly disintegrating. Throwing the boat up on the box every time I take it out has now lost its entertainment value so before next season I want to sort out the bumper so I can tow. I'm on a budget so fancy off the shelf gear is out but I'm thinking maybe I can find something to fit at the junk yard. Anyone know what type of newer junk yard trucks have bumpers that I could modify to fit? Or any other bright ideas that could solve my problem? Thanks in advance.
  10. Will do, thanks again :)
  11. Awesome, not seen your list before, what a valuable resource! Thanks man, I'll be hitting that up for info today.
  12. OK, now I'm confused!1,3,4 & 5? Whatchya' mean mr? :)
  13. Both, and cleaned connectors while I was in there. Is there anything else i should look at? Injectors maybe?
  14. Thanks guys, fingers crossed this fixes my misfire :)
  15. Cool, I'll check that out.
  16. Thanks for the input sir. I do have my suspicions about the quality of the new cps that I installed, it was very cheap but it was the only choice. Think I'll order another from a different supplier and see if that helps. :)
  17. Hello fellow CCers. I'm looking for some help diagnosing a mild misfire and hoping somebody can point me in the right direction? My 4.0L runs and drives great, mpg is good, pulls well but it has a persistent stumble/misfire at idle. It's not rhythmic and one cylinder specific, more like a few misses on several cylinders then smooth then a few more misses then smooth again and so on. I replaced the CPS a while back and just recently sprayed some carb cleaner down the throttle body which seemed to increase idle speed but made no difference to the misfire. The truck has 118k miles on it, starts easy and runs well when driving. Although, I guess it may still be missing further up the rpm's just I can't detect it. Any ideas? Injectors maybe? What else should I look at? Thanks in advance :)
  18. Hi guys. Please can someone help me out with 'the knowledge'. The design on my d35 rear axle with its taper bearings seems a bit lame IMHO. Having a design that makes the axle 'want' to push outward under load doesn't make much sense. I'd like to find out if it's possible to replace the taper bearings on the d35 with straight bearings to prevent this lateral pressure under load (hope that makes sense?!). The retainer plate on one side has bowed already from this outward pressure so I made a spacer up to compensate. By comparison, the C-clip design isn't much better, IMHO. How many photos have seen where people have had an escapee axle because the clip has failed! If the non c-clip design had straight bearings that would be better than either standard designs because there would be no lateral pressure and everything is held in place by the retainer plate so no escaping axles on the trail. I am looking into maybe finding a d44(?) from a Cherokee when funds allow, but right now for a few bucks and my time I could just put straight bearings in ..... If that's possible? Anyone know? Thanks on advance. FYI: '89 Pioneer 4.0L with dana 35 rear axle.
  19. Hi guys, I tried and failed to get the coolant block plug out, I ground down a 3/8" square drive to fit but it snapped off in the hole and I can't get it out now! :( Oh why couldn't they have made it a standard drive size!! I pulled out the coolant temp sensor hoping I could drain it through that instead but nothing came out. Is that normal or is my system clogged? I don't have any overheating issues so I'm hoping that's not the case. Thanks for your input in advance :)
  20. The retaining setup on the mj d35 axles is IMHO very poor for such an otherwise tough truck. When i replaced the bearings on my rear 35 i noticed that the plate has bowed enough that i needed to shim it out to get enough pressure on the bearing. My plan is to take the measurements and get some new ones made out of thicker steel plate. Or get another axle that has the C clip retainers.

    Car Pool Time?

    Funny! :D
  22. You can buy the plugs at an auto parts shop and they are pennies. Ask for the size as mentioned already.
