  1. Did a bunch of the wiring and wire management today. Trying to decide where to mount the ECU.
  2. Truck is back at my house. Exhaust and I take are done. And my buddy completely killed it. Far exceeded my expectations I’m so happy with how it turned out. I have to finish up painting interior and do the wiring. Then we can fire her up for the first time since I started this thread….a LONG time. I’m still saving for paint, hoping by next year. I have some odds and ends to button up all over the truck as you guys will notice in the pictures, securing brake lines, hose clamps etc. but we are making progress
  3. Driveshaft is in, shifter is in. Exhaust is almost done. All that’s left is some front suspension button up and wiring. Then I can fire it up. Trans cross member came out great
  4. Almost done. Getting truck on Wednesday. Would be earlier in the week but I’m working. Exhaust is going to kick out toward the frame rails and go back to the magnaflow mufflers and then dumped just at the axle with turn downs.
  5. Exhaust is almost done. It’s looking absolutely awesome. I’m thrilled with this guys welding work. B&M hammer shifter comes today and I picked up a red top yesterday.
  6. New crossmember is done, I'm super happy with it. Exhaust is done being mocked up and he’s welding everything together now. Getting close! once it comes home I'm gonna do the wiring, check all my connections, add fluids and hopefully start it in the next couple weeks. still need shifter battery driveshaft ac lines
  7. Exhaust is underway. Looks insane I can’t wait to see it finished.
  8. All the materials came for the exhaust finally. Should be done in the next 10 days or so. tried to get the stock shifter working with the 4L60E, it’s just not playing nice together. When I go from park to Reverse, the shift kicks down from reverse to neutral immediately. Tried adjusting the linkage and it just doesn’t want to work. Gonna go with an aftermarket cable set up.
  9. Coming together, here’s a quick pic of where we are at. Been super busy with work, have a ton of updates to post, doing that Tuesday hopefully. wish I knew how to weld, I would do the exhaust myself. Unfortunately I don’t and I’m not trying to learn on this truck lol I have a guy coming over Friday to measure and come up with a plan for exhaust. He’s fabbed up a ton of local Supra and other awesome builds so his work is top notch. Going with 3” polished stainless for the whole set up. X pipe to magnaflow mufflers, dumped just past the rear axle with turn downs.
  10. Also, anyone that’s done a 4L60E swap, what shifter linkage are you using to connect from the console shifter to trans? All the kits I’m finding say they are for column shift set ups.
  11. Huge day yesterday. Tons of progress. We got the fuel cell, and all the new fuel system installed. -6AN line everything came out great. Also got the trans cooler mounted and set up, did 6AN for that. Ended up mounting it under the bed I couldn’t find room anywhere else for now it will stay there. got the power steering lines done and hooked up, also got the cooling system done and hooked up. got the Intake done, waiting on throttle cable and I have to extend the maf and IAT wiring since I switched the intake to passenger side and moved battery to driver side. I will update with pics today. Still have to do… wiring Driveshaft exhaust ac lines shifter linkage getting close should be able to at least fire it in the next 2 weeks hopefully
  12. Did some test fitting on the corbeau trailcat seats. Fit is awesome super happy with them. Went through all the boxes of parts in the garage and got everything out to do the fuel system and trans cooler lines early next week. Will update with pics when I get started. also went by the drive shaft shop to get that going and talked to my buddy about doing the exhaust. Doing 3” stainless from the collectors back, H pipe and then dumped with turn downs just past the rear axle.
  13. Really wish he hadn’t sanded the fender I could have just rocked the old paint for now. I got the new wheels and tires on it. Gonna look awesome. Next week I’m gonna start the fuel system.
  14. Well she’s finally back home. A bit uglier than when she left 14 months ago. I’m gonna regroup and focus on getting it running before I do anything further with the paint / body
  15. Well, I'm picking up the truck 9/22. Beyond disappointed but I’m glad I’ll have it back. Unfortunately now the fenders are sanded. so I guess I’ll be running around with primer on it 😠 I’ll post some pics when I get it back. It’s been a 14 month waste of time.
  16. Wow this is awesome. Please keep this thread updated. What a build -Ryan
  17. Update 6/25/22 truck body work / paint has started
  18. No updates on the Comanche. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Found a few pics back from 2009 after she was repainted in the original color. It looks good in photos but the finish only lasted about a year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Wow those came out beautifully. I wanting to do the exact same thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Absolutely amazing build. Your attention to detail and fab skills are next to the best. This thread makes me anxious to get mine back from paint. I’m running a similar fuel set up but I opted with a fuel cell in the bed. Where did you get the spare tire carrier? It’s exactly what I’m looking. -Ryan Also I made the same move as you and got rid of my gladiator rubicon and got a ram for towing. That lasted a few months I missed the gladiator so bad and got an offer on the ram I couldn’t turn down. Back in a gladiator Willys. Couldn’t afford the rubicon this go around, prices are out of control. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Just checking in. I’m still alive. Comanche is still at the paint shop…minor progress has been made but nothing to even show or post about. Hoping it’s back to me by may or June. Which will be just shy of a year [emoji2959] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. No update on the Comanche… However I missed my gladiator so much I had to go back. About a week after I sold my rubicon I regretted the decision, i tried to get her back but she was sold . Huge major mistake. I couldn’t get back in to a rubicon but I was able to get a new Willy’s. So nice to be back. Not planning to do much. Definitely not 4.5” lift on 37s again. Anyway, Here she is. Some day I’ll have a Comanche update [emoji854] So far I have added rubicon shocks and a teraflex leveling kit. Ordered led headlights, fogs, DRLs and taillights. Oh and I had the bed done in linex Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
