  1. Considering how bad they were, I’m happy with how they turned out.
  2. Shop was able to repair the pitting with a high build primer, sanded them smooth and coated them. Pretty happy with how they turned out I’ll be picking them up tomorrow.
  3. Well, got some disappointing news today. The wheels got blasted and they are in really bad shape. Tons of pitting and imperfections. All 5 wheels are rough, to the point the shop said repairing them would be more than they are worth. I told them to get them as smooth as they can and it is what it is. I'm hoping to have the finished product close to the bottom picture. We will see 😞
  4. 100% doing this instead of trying to make the auto meter digital dash fit, that’s turned in to a nightmare. This is perfect for what I want. I don’t see it on their website?
  5. Dropping the turbines off this morning to be blasted and powder coated silver metallic. Sold the rubicon wheels / 33s Going to lower the truck down a bit. AC was working great when I parked the truck in November. Guess I have a leak somewhere because it’s not working now. Sucks everything was brand new, custom lines etc. held fine for almost a year. I will leak test it next week maybe
  6. She’s been tucked away in my parents garage for the last few months. Debating on lowering the truck back to stock height and putting the turbines back on. Want that clean original look.
  7. About ready to get back on this project and wrap it up. I had to have another back surgery so I have been down and out the last couple months. I need to put the carpet in, finish the autometer digital dash Install and rebuild the ford 8.8 / install and that should be it beside paint and body.
  8. Still here guys, it’s been an insane 4 months. My wife of 7 years told me she wants a divorce out of the blue, so I have been trying to process and handle that. Everyone is so quick to cut and run these days, marital commitment just ain’t what it is was years ago I guess. So she’s moving out in the next few days but is at least open to trying to fix things now, so there is that I guess. Truck is doing good, still need to install the digital dash, carpeting and then get it painted. The funds are there for paint I’m just waiting till I figure out my living situation as she is forcing the sale of the house. In other news I picked up my dream car since the last update. Got a 2003 Cobra, they came out when I was in highschool and it took me 20 years to get one but I finally pulled it off.
  9. Wow….that looks awesome. This truck is my favorite hands down. You have this thing dialed in bro. What’s next? -Ryan
  10. Yea I can, probably going to have to do that. Was just wondering if anyone knew of some out there that didn’t require that.
  11. What’s up guys, looking for a set of front fenders that actually fit properly. My truck is an 86. The problem I’m running in to is all the fenders I’m finding have studs coming out the front where the header panel attaches. My stock fenders do no have studs. The studs are on my header panel. Has anyone found a fender that works with the header panel that has the studs on it instead of the other way around? Ryan
  12. Huge score today…2001 ford explorer 8.8 with 3.73 and limited slip Also started on the black interior. Looks awesome.
  13. Took some time away from the truck. Installed the new keyparts taillight lenses today. So nice
  14. Wow that sounds AWESOME. Good motivation to do the cam in mine. Thanks for sharing. Absolutely amazing truck. If you ever sell it I call first dibs
  15. God I love this truck bro. Do you have any videos of it idling with the cam? I’m looking at the BTR stage 2 cam, gonna have to do a stall though so I’m not in a rush.
  16. If you’re using a corvette power steering pump you need to shim the flow valve down inside or you will blow the seals out of your steering gear box. I just went through it with my truck. Corvette pump operates at 1300-1500 PSI and the stock gear box wants 700-830PSI. There is a company called Scram racing that makes a kit to shim the flow valve edit - looks like your using a PSC steering box. Would still check in to that. Would hate to see that get blown out.
  17. Interior is still gutted. It’s mind numbingly loud inside I’m gonna have to killmat it and probably have the turn downs cut off and run tail pipes to the back bumper. I have some interior wiring to do, digital dash to install, speakers, subwoofer etc. getting close. I might throw a seat in it and drive it down the street on my birthday Friday. We’ll see put some stock halogens back in, hated the LEDs. I also put my cut fenders back on, I clear coated them since @#$% head sanded them. Gonna do the Notch M max fender flares
  18. So I got all the interior harness loomed and wrapped. Got rid of about half of the wiring inside and probably 3/4 of it in the engine bay. AC is charged and blowing ice cubes. Also burped the cooling system. She’s idling in the driveway at 195. Held that temp for about 45 minutes of idling. My original steering box was leaking where the shaft goes in. I swapped it out for a reman’d box and redid the PS lines when I did that. I still haven’t driven the truck but I backed it out and checked the steering in my driveway. Lock to lock felt good. Went to work and came home the next day to find a puddle of power steering fluid under the truck. The new gear box was leaking from several spots. As I’m sitting there staring at it like WTF I realized I made a critical mistake. I was using a Corvette power steering pump…I failed to realize the corvette pump operates at 1300-1500 PSI. Our gear box is rated for 700-800 PSI. So yes I blew all the seals out. I found a company called Scram racing that makes a shim kit to drop the pressure to 700 PSI. So today I took everything apart again. Completely dissembled the pump and shimmed the flow valve and put a new gear box in. The belt that came with my Holley kit is too long the tensioner is maxed out and chatters when I run the AC so I ordered a shorter belt.
  19. Got the front back together. Gotta finish some wiring, hook up my digital dash and charge the AC. Almost ready to drive
  20. She’s alive and running! Sounds awesome! Trying to figure out how to post a video. Having some issues at idle. Gotta keep the throttle cracked or she stalls. Engine sounds healthy for not running in years. I have a leak at the steering box on the back side where the shaft goes in. Have to replace that. spent today going through the wiring, got rid of 90% of the jeep engine harness except for power wires to interior. Starting going through the cab wiring and got rid of half of that. LS1 is completely stand alone beside switched ignition and AC request from the dash. I pulled all the wiring out from the old cluster, my new digital dash is also Stand alone. Decided to put my factory cut (ruined) fenders back on, 3 different aftermarket ones all fit like pure $#!&. Wish the a$$hole hadn’t cut them. It is what it is. FullSizeRender.MOV
  21. No pictures of the frame but I pulled the bed off and raptor lined it and the frame. So I’m pretty much down to sorting the factory 2.8 harness down to just the lights, interior power, switched ignition for starter wire and AC request. My home made AC lines came out great, holding 30” of vacuum for past 24 hours. All my wiring is done for the LS, battery cables are done. I’m going to be starting the truck today, I have to check my fuel system for leaks and fire her up. My wiring is roughed in for now, if everything goes smooth today I’ll make all the wiring pretty and loomed.
  22. Awesome truck, I regret not keeping my interior original like yours. Those door panels are pretty rare. LS swap it and don’t look back.
  23. Wow this is awesome. I’m so happy to see companies making stuff for the Comanche. The bumper is beautiful. Any ETA on the roll pan? I’m 100% ordering that.
