  1. I'm gonna pass. The trucks worth it but Long Island is like 350mi from me and I don't wanna drive that far not knowing the condition for sure. I think I'm gonna hold out for a southern truck. Thanks allot for letting me know about it and good luck with the sale.
  2. The cab actually looks pretty solid. The bed doesnt look shot but its obviously got some rust. Have you ever pulled the carpets up to check the floors over? What I can see of the floors looks solid in the pictures but you never really know till you look under the carpet.
  3. I know that very well thats why it says in the ad I am willing to travel and it doesnt need to be 4wd. Rust free is the big ticket. I can do a 4wd swap no problem I'm just looking for the right body. Could you give me some specifics on your truck? Engine, trany, mileage, what attention does it need? Are the floors, rockers, cab corners and bed good? What are you askinkg for it?
  4. That truck is sold already but thanks allot for telling me about it.
  5. Ya I'm gonna pass on it. Theres better deals out there it just peaked my interest because it said rust free. Believe me I look on craigslist but anyone who has a rust free comanche in PA thinks its worth $4000 and I have a better chance of seeing god then finding one. 6year old rusts rust out here. I have no problem going a ways to get one its just finding one in the right condition. Thanks to everyone for all the advice.
  6. Lol, from the F.a.q: "Q: What is your best price for this vehicle? A: KipKillmons is a one price dealership. We list our BEST price on ebay. No hassle, no negotiation!! The listed price is our best price. PLEASE don't call and ask for us to sell it for less!! We believe providing our best price up front is the best way to do business on ebay!!" It's funny to see this, though. I just saw a video advertising this truck on Youtube. [edit] The price on the auction is way below the price on the video. Still a bit too high, though, in my opinion. They say the price listed is the best they will do but it dropped from $4000 to $2500 and now $2300.
  7. Thanks allot for the offer i really appreciate it. I'm tossing around the idea of calling them up to see what they would take for it and checking it out myself. My buddys itching to go on a road trip and its really not that far. if $2300 is the best they will do i think I'm gonna pass on it though.
  8. here's the link.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0342579302 don't know the exact condition for sure but it was registered in CA and TX pretty much its whole life acording to carfax. Its not perfect by any means it has some kinda tie downs on the sides and its 2wd but its a 4.0 and it supposed to be rust free and it only 240mi from me. What does everyone think its worth? I know there are better deals out there I just wanted an idea of a possible offer to shoot at them.
  9. Thanks allot for the links I missed those ones somehow. I'm actually looking for a southern truck and would drive pretty far for the right one. Rust free and PA don't go well together. I really don't wanna go farther than mabey 500mi but for the right truck who knows. Its hard to find the right truck and the right seller when they're that far away. People don't know what to look at for rust or don't feel like looking. And I gotta find someone who will hold on to it long enough for me to come down to get it.
  10. Thanks and good score (wanna sell it :D ) Believe me I look everywhere and tell everyone I know to watch for them. PA is a rusty state that hates jeeps with a passion and most of the backyard trucks here are there for a reason. I got my last almost rustfree truck in a frontyard buried in snow for $300 but it came from SC. I'm not really expecting to find something close to me in the condition I want. Just hoping to get some good leads form honest people who know what there talking about. I drove 400mi one way to buy the 91 4.0 sport truck of my dreams from a guy who seemed honest only to find out the frame was bent from what looked like a day before I got there joyride.
  11. Like the title says I'm looking for a rustfree shortbed comanche. In a perfect world I would like a 91-92 4.0 5speed 4wd but thats not very likely. The truck I'm looking for has to be a shortbed and rustfree. I would prefer a 4.0 with a 5speed but will consider anything if the body is in the condition I'm looking for. Doesnt need to be 4wd and can need some work I'm just tired of patching rust. I'm in PA but am willing to travel as long as the truck is right and the owner is willing to work with me on the pickup date. If the truck is reliable enough to drive home that would be great. If not i can flat tow it or get a tow dolly. I'm looking on other classified ads but i would really like to buy from someone on CC who would know what there looking at and would be honest about the condition. My price range depends on the truck but I have money and am willing to pay a fair price.
  12. 99+ intake and newer style valve cover.
  13. Small update. Got the truck running correctly after a tps, map and oxygen sensor. Also had a scratch on my roof that was bothering me so i cut it out. Thankfully i found a sunroof to fill the hole. My long arms also showed up along with a few things form advance adapters. Also got my clutch and clutch master cylinder. Got to get a few more things and i can get started on the lift and 4wd conversion. here's a pic of the long arms. Thanks for looking.
  14. I saw a thread somewhere about using WJ knuckles on an older axle or something to that effect. I found a WJ front axle and mastercylinder pretty cheap and was thinking about doing it if its worth while. So here's my question. Is it worth the trouble and what is involved in doing it? Thanks for any and all information.
  15. I kinda like it too. no one expects much from it. Idk why the hoses look new. Most of them are half shot. the rad is newer though.
  16. Yep. Gonna use the 2.5. I have all the parts to put an Ax15 behind it. I'm gonna replace all the gaskets and freshen it up a bit.
  17. After kicking myself for selling my last comanche i finally got another one. here's a pic of my old truck. And here's some pics of my new truck. Pretty much the same thing as my last one. 88 swb pionerr 2.5 Ax4 2wd. This one does have power steering at least. Needed a clutch, driver side floor has alittle rust and runs alittle rough but unlike my last truck this one didnt come out of a field after sitting for two years. The truck was a daily driver and has no rust other than the drivers floor so I brought it home. here's some pics from when I got it. Already replaced the clutch and got it inspected. havent got around to the rough idle issue but i did put a center console and bucket seats out of a 94 xj country in it. Everyone with a comanche should have bucket seats. thanks to mfpdm for the write up. I will be doing 4wd swap very soon including a rough country long arm kit, ironrock track bar, rubicon express coils and spring perches for a spring over, 4.56s lockers and an Ax15 swap using a 96 2.5 dakota bellhousing. I'm looking to run 6in of lift and 33s. I already have the parts i just have to get a few more things and I can get to work. I will update as things progress. Right now I'm just driving the truck to work out all the little problems. Thanks for looking. Let me know what you think
  18. I work at a dealership and things have been crazy since the start of the CARS thing. So far all we got were mostly late 80s to mid 90s ford and chevy half ton trucks and most of them are no loss. Ill cry when the first jeep comes in. One truck was a nice 98 f150 with 70k on it. Drained the oil and poured water with block sealer down the crank case and it was done. What really bothers me is that toyota and honda etc vehicles qualify for the program.
  19. 78 or 79. Not sure which. Has the cast mounts so its gonna be a pita. I'm going with about 7.5in of lift.
  20. It did come with the radius arms but I think I'm still gonna do the longarms. I don't think the radius arm setup will work well with the amount of lift I'm doing.
  21. Changed my plans for the axles. Picked up a HP 44 and 9in out of a fs bronco for $200.
  22. 208k on mine. My uncle sold his 91 about two years ago with 42k on it.
  23. Sounds just like my build Ya. I figured its time to build one right instead of just drolling over yours.
