Looking for a decent Mj somewhere near the Charlotte,NC area. Would prefer 4.0, aw4, 4wd, swb. Needs to run and drive as it would be a daily driver.
-
the kit i make is 1/4" cnc laser cut steel, 32 bolt pattern. welds to the face of the lip so the tire isn't seating against the weld. Same kit i've been running on my XJ for years. Now that i'm swapping axles i'll be making another set for my new 6 lug wheels too. A kit for 4 wheels (8 rings) is 200.00 2 more rings for a spare will make the total 250.00 I havn't shipped a set in a while so i'll weigh the rings i've got in the shop and get you a shipping quote. PM me so i remember to get that for you tomorow. hex head bolts and nylock nuts can be bought for 10.00/wheel but most people choose to buy thier own hardware locally so they can pick out the exact ones they want. I chose button head allen bolts for mine. here are some pics.
-
you could weld my DIY kit to them, but you may have a clearance issue with the nuts on the back side of the inner ring with a stock wheel. Probably be best to pick up some cheap steelies and weld on a diy kit. Let me know if you end up needing some rings.

the front bumper like the one in the pics is about 500.00 But they are custom made to order so you can make changes as you see fit. The two mounting plates for the rear bumper are just 1/4" steel laser cut with holes for the factory mounting points. Thats why i use the class III hitch to finish tieing it into the jeep. I'm not sure how the MJ rear bumpers attach.

bring it by sometime and we'll cut it up. You still going to get that tool box? You want one of these for your MJ?
-
yea, its kind of hard to see in the pics, but there is a 4x6 1/4" steel plate on each side where the stock bumper mounted. so you have those 8 bolts, the lower kickers going to the hitch, and both side brace pieces that go to the frame.
-
I built some bumpers for a friends XJ this week. The rear really doesn't apply to MJ guys, but the front would be a direct bolt on. Whatcha think?
-
It's not that you were miss quoted just the xj leaf will NOT work on an mj Dave, he is not asking about XJ leaves. He is asking if he can bolt an XJ axle into an MJ without moving the spring perches. Answer: No. thanks, thats what i needed to know. looks like we will be doing TNT's ubolt eliminators now.
-
ok, i think i may have been missunderstood. I'm talking about the width of the leaf spring mounts. do they compare to the width of a cherokee? will an XJ axle bolt up as a spring over on an MJ?
-
I've got a buddy buying my XJ axles to put under his MJ, I havn't been able to go over there and get a measurement on the spring center pin width and he hasn't either. My question is, will an XJ rear axle bolt up as a spring over without having to move the spring perches on the axle?

Justin Whitt Only had an MJ long enough to strip all the parts off of it and sell them :D Maybe i'll buy one again and actually keep it. I'm near charlotte, NC Oh, yea...here is the MJ I was refering to:

My XJ build(4.0 renix computer with a 4.0 HO motor)+lift

great progress. Glad to hear the engine swap is going well. Your throttle cable should be at your door today if you haven't already gotten it. Oh, and the problem i was having with my 99 when you were here...its gone now. Are you like some kind of Jeep whisperer or something??? -
I have to ask...why did you take off the black handles and newer mirrors? oh, and i think you put your lift kit on backwards...

i'm running the rustys intake with k&n filter on mine and it does make a strange sucking noise. don't know if it helped with power or not because i changed my exhaust at the same time. maybe helped, or maybe just the exhaust made the change. either way, it seems to have more power (slighty) than before. but this is on a 99 xj so the intake was already the good one.

i've bled the mc twice and all 4 corners twice too. I'm going to try another booster tomorow. any other ideas? If it was a horse i would have shot it by now...
-
everyone else is telling me that when a booster goes out the pedal gets real stiff.
-
I'm working on a 91 cherokee that was brought to me with no working brakes. The pedal just went strait to the floor and would only stop the truck if it was going very slow. I have bled the lines but didn't help. I also swapped out the master cylinder but also didn't help. Then i thought, maybe the proportion valve was bad or clogged. I swaped it out and still no help. There are no leaks anywhere that i can see and really don't think there is any air still in the lines. When the vehichle isn't running the brakes feel just ok, but once you fire it up the pedal goes to the floor. So I unhooked the vac line from the intake to the booster and its just like as if the motor isn't running, ok but not great. anyone know what is going on? is the booster probably bad? I've just never heard of them going out before, but i guess its possible.

i've still got the bed, but the rear section of the frame in the picture is gone. pm me if you want the bed. i've got a rear d35 too for a trailer axle.
-
if you guys are looking for bed sides, i'll cut up this bed i've got...no one seems to want to buy it whole.
-
I was going to bring a digital video camera and record it being picked up by the claws and thrown 50' in the air up on to a pile but didn't have time to. by the time i unhooked the straps i looked up and the claw was coming for me...i ran pretty quick out of the way. It was a pretty cool sight. the last jeep i had crushed was a 94 grand cherokee. That was fun to watch too.
-
its already crushed. I've got an xj here too. if it ends up going to the crusher i can cut the inner fender out for you.
-
I don't want to hear any whining...this thing has been listed for sale here for a while now. the rockers are still good. the only body part i cut off and sold was that cab corner. the frame was bent up front but thats it. If i had a big yard where i could keep and hide vehichles i would hold on to it for someone but its got to go. it will be going to the crusher in the morning along with all the crap in it.

Just thought i'd see what kind of responses I got from this... Ever thought you would see an entire MJ on a 5 by 8 trailer?
