  1. Cleaned up the Carpet the Best I could (been drying out now for a few days) and hit with a Can of Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabric Coating that I had left over from doing my Roll Bar Pads on the TJ. Other than the two holes on the Drivers Side (that are covered by the mats), I think it looks pretty nice for a 20+ year old stock carpet.
  2. As soon as I get my engine swap rolling and finished (something upcoming very possibly), the next big thing that I'm thinking about is Lift/tires...I don't want to go huge (or huge $$$) and I don't want a "home-made" type setup...I'd like to clear 31"s (I assume 31x10.5?) without worrying about rubbing. What are my options out there for this type of setup? I know the 3.07's in the D30/D44 I have will be a problem but I drove around town in my TJ on 33's for a while with 3.07's and it was "bearable" until I had my D44 swapped in and 4.56's installed Front/Rear. The one off road trip on 3.07's and 33's was an eye opener (in a bad way) and sure helped push me to accelerate the D44/Gear swap. Because my TJ is still going to my by "regular", main, off-road rig since I've spent so much $$$ to get it where it is, the off road in the MJ will be "mild", and leave the "hardcore" stuff to the TJ. "Someday" if I swap out the D30/D44 (4.56/ARB's, etc) out of my TJ for D60's or whatever, there is always the possibilty that I might be able to use some of the "innards" of those in my MJ. (Since I have a stock D30/D44 already). If there are any TJ guys out there, here is my TJ Setup, more or less current...I think I'm going to get the ORO Swayloc for myself for Fathers/B-Day... :D 1999 TJ Sport 4.0L (3 Spd Auto) Forest Green Solid Axle HD D44 Rear (4.56/ARB) | AlloyUSA Grande30/30 (4.56/ARB) Front RE 4.5" Tri-Link Long Arm | 33x12.5 MT MTZ's | Teralow 4:1 / 2Lo | SYE/CV Currie HD Steering | AtoZ Rockers | Kilby Gas Tank Skid | Kilby Steering Box Skid Jeep Medic Engine Skid | Hanson 60" Front Bumper | Rear Hanson with Square Tire Carrier | Superwinch EPi 9.0 | 1" PA BL | M.O.R.E MML | sPOD / The SOURCE | Rockhard4x4 Ultimate Sports Cage
  3. 1 more important addition... :D just arrived today, thanks Pete!
  4. Fixed some things with the door area... Added a new Door Dome Light Switch, Replaced the Door Catch and added a Door Panel Water Shield... also replaced a few or missing/broken plastic push pins that keep the door panel on the door. I just realized that I forgot to reinstall the speaker, so I have to pop the panel off again... DOH! Still have to add the Water Shield on the Passenger side, but will try to do that if I can get the kids down for a nap.
  5. It's gonna be sometime next week... there has been over 1500 posts since this thread started... and over 99000 now... so I' guess before the 7th of June...
  6. I buy all my Dewalt stuff on Amazon.Com... We just recently got a Home Depot in town and Amazon is cheaper on just about everything I looked at (free 2nd day shipping with AmazonPrime, no tax, etc)
  7. Hey next time I get over there, it won't hurt to ask...worse they can say is NO
  8. Okey, sorry about my bad english but rod and prop, like wrong oilplug and the cover that it is sitting in? This thing... Mine looks like this...
  9. If you have 5 Leafs you very likely have the Big Ton package... You have a pic of the sticker?
  10. About 2/3 of the way down the page... Door Ajar Switch XJ 1984-1989 http://www.teamgrandwagoneer.com/cgi-bin/partsSQL/search.cgi?query=switch&catid=95
  11. The only reason I wanted the handle off was so I could stick these things on...I tried to pull the handle through the opening and wtihout cutting, it wasn't going to work... http://www.teamgrandwagoneer.com/parts/Detailed/1948.html
  12. WooHoo... got the Switch working my and dome likes work when I open my doors now (at least when they are facing in the downward position)... to bad i busted the clip on my driver side light messing with the cable and it won't stay in now, and I just sent off my extra one (and both the lights from my new 87 have busted clips too... maybe time to do one of the replacements that people have done around here... Thanks for the help... I need to pick up some double sided tape to stick that door panel thing on and hook the handle and stuff back up, but that's going to have to wait till tomorrow...also replaced my Door Catch and found the old one in about 5 pieces rattling around inside my door. Then I get to start on the passenger side.weeee
  13. ULTRA-Cool... unfortunately, I got none of that stuff... WHAT!!!! everybody needs a battery charger!! I'm def going to try it.... I have a little trickle charger, but don't think it's a continuous 2 amp or whatever that video talked about...Or at least it didn't have a setting like the dudes did..
  14. Yah, the Linkages, how the heck do I get those off without busting stuff... Squeeze the bottom of the yellowish fastener with some needlenose, then you should be able to push it through. And for your first question, did you remove the old switch? Or was it just not there? I'd imagine for replacing that thing you'd have the wires through that hole alread from when you pulled the old one out, but since that's not the case, I'd think you can get at those wires if you removed the kick panel. thanks, got the handle off finally... figure the clamp thing out... As far as the wires, when I originally pulled the old one out, one wire was busted and didn't come out of the opening and then I stupidly jammed the other one in the hole not thinking I'd want to eventually fix it. I have the whole kick panel off on my other MJ and there is no access to that area that I can see. SW2 ** EDIT *** I was able to access thru the rubber tube that the speaker wire goes through...just working on fishing them from the bigger hole up thru the smaller one that the switch screws into...
  15. Yah, the Linkages, how the heck do I get those off without busting stuff...
  16. #1) how do you access the hollow space here to fish out the wires for the door dome light switch (wires apparantly inside, and I bought a new switch) #2) How do you pop off the interior door handle/lock plate thing? I bought the new plastic door liners from TeamCherokee and have to get that handle unit off to make it fit nicely. I have the rest of the panel off but can't seem to pop that off and I don't' want to break the thing. Thanks Sw2
  17. They will replace just for surface rust? They are all still 100 percent functional
  18. ULTRA-Cool... unfortunately, I got none of that stuff...
  19. I was thinking about soaking in something... some of the Sockets have Rust inside that isn't going to be easy to get with a rag...and I'm lazy and would like to be able to dump the whole lot of them into a bucket of something, then just take out, dry off and toss back in the case... I have ot clean out the case too once I dump everything out. SW2
  20. A While back, my Father in Law gave me his Craftsman Tool set that I never even bothered to look at (I think he gave it to me during the move into our house or something and I forgot about it)...Anyhow, popped it open more or less for first time last night and there is quite a bit of Surface Rust on many of the Bits and Sockets (obviously had some water involved at some point). Anyhow, any suggestions for cleaning up all the individual bits/sockets and case to prevent further rust... it's a pretty nice set actually, and it might be nice to have all the different stuff together in 1 set instead of all over my toolbox... Pic of said tool-set...
  21. None of mine are friendlly, they all suck out loud... Mine are SLAPS, and you fill in the "S" word...
  22. So I ordered me some new stuff from Harbor Freight and will just have to wait for it all to show up in the mail (at least I'm not in a rush!).... While I'm waiting for this stuff is there any problem with me yanking my Front End out since I'll be installing a new D30 when I install the AW4/NP231 to work towards the 4WD Conversion.I don't' really need that tube as long as I'm not moving the Truck before the swap... Also, will I be better off getting my 2WD Rear Drive shaft shortened (it sure looks goofy, Big Huge (Like 6" in Diameter) Thick Tube thing compared to my 89 with 4wd), or just trying to find a stock one of the guys on here that has a 4WD Front/Rear Driveshaft for a SWB that they would part with.
