point well taken. 2496 rpm would be nice. I wish I had a gauge cluster with a tachmeter but nooooo, I have the dummy version with dummy lights and no tach. although I do like to big fuel gauge.
-
so two weeks after I put the new clutch in and she's still runnin' like a top. fuel mileage is going up, having a clutch again instead of jammin' gears like a 16 year old in a 18 speed big rig is alot better on fuel.....whoda thunk it . can't wait for the holday season to be over so I can have money again so I can start buying material at work for the rocker channels and the light bar I want to make.

what 5th gear

wow, that actually sounds like a very good company, deffinetly worh looking into

ok, after tires, my truck will be getting a new exhaust system. I looked on youtube and imho the thrush turbo sounds like crap on the 2.5. I was thinking about either a magnaflow (which sounded really good on my 2.0l 99 vw) or a cherry bomb extreme. thoughts, comments, and opinions GO

dadinator: I did look at your thread and thats why I am looking at 31's. eagle: part of my reason for 31's is the fact that my daily drive is about 80% highway or more one way so the lower rpm's of the tire would be nice and won't hurt me to much for the 3 stoplights I have to go through which are normaly green anyway. automan: I've never heard of that company before. all of their products are re-treads?

dangit, I just relooked and you are correct.guess I'm going to go with the dynapro ATm 31/10.5 r15 these are gonna be pricey :(
-
I feel somewhat stupid now. after talking to my tire guys he alerted me that 30/9.5 are not even 1/2" bigger than 235/75's. pretty lame, I think I'm gonna go 31/10.5's now. edit: or I just look at different tires. the hankook dynapro AT measures 30.9/9.4 actual compared to the firestone/bridgestones that measure 28.9 actual for a 235/75r15. I think I found my tire.
-
my suspension is probably pretty settled also, 281k yesterday. I can't wait to get these tires. then my speedo will be slow instead of fast  thanks for all the input. how good does the 2.5 power these tires? I'm assuming just fine, but I want to be safe
-
what do you think of the destination a/t's? pretty good in the rain?
-
the sucking in the snow/rain is what the salesman told me, just wanted to verify what he was saying. I'm assuming wj lower control arms are cheap to obtain and bolt directly onto the mj?
-
so I was at a tire store last night looking at tires to put on and get ride of these tiny arse 200/55/r15's. I want to run 30/9.5/15's but was wondering if I will have any clearance issues and how I can solve them. also, firestone destination a/t or m/t? I am used to driving a humvee with m/t wheels so noise doesnt bother me. unless you have a better or equal tire for equal or less the cost.

this is the exact reason why women should not be on subs. it isnt because of equal rights or anything. bad isht is gonna happen with that many men on board and a couple of females. the military already has a large enough issue with sexual assualt and rape. even if the woman is willing, it is still creates a non-cunducive work environment for everyone around you.

you can get HID headlights without the stupid ricer bleu look. go ddm tuning .com or http://www.ddmtuning.com/category.php?CA=85 get the 6k in 35w and you will have a crisp bright white that can't be beat. nice and cheap, plus an amazing warentee, they also have the conversion housings you will need. as a testemonial or whatever ya want to call it, I have run these on previous cars and my motorcycle and I have never had a complaint abotu them.

well the new clutch/slave combo seem to be working just fine. my next investment will probably be new rear u-joints as my uncle said they are starting to show signs of going bad (I trust him, he has been an ase certified trans tech for over 10 15 years now) but maybe I'll find a decent set of rims at the junkyard or CL for cheep to throw some bigger snow/mud tires on.
-
ya, it's basically a peice of junk, interstates are my worst enemy if I want good fuel mileage. I can't wait to throw in an ax-5 w/ t-case.
-
my stepdad told me about this while we where putting the new clutch in my mj today. I sure wish I had cable.
-
clutch job is finished. with the help of my stepdad and uncle the lend a few extra hands and tell me what to do, the new clutch was installed and the truck back together in right around 4.5 hours. that makes me wonder why it takes the "pro's" at the dealership 4 hours and this was the first time I have ever done a clutch and slave cylinder. what size/type of bit do I need to get the trans fluid fill/check hole open?
-
oh, now I feel dumb. actually I have never heard of that part before, but that is probably because I have never had a vehicle with one as far as I know.
-
is lsc and oem replacement engine?
-
I got the topper off today along with the garage cleaned so I can get her in there. I'm going to attempt to drive it to work tomorrow based on the sole fact that it gets alot better fuel mileage that a 95 chevyt 1500 Z71.
-
today finally marks the start of me fixing the clutch slave cylinder....a part I have had for about 3 weeks now. the topper is also coming off so I can get the truck on my garage. still undecided if it will be going back on though.

a few articles to help out. http://www.upmpg.com/tech_articles/motoroil_viscosity/ when I find the other one I am looking for I will post it. It was written by an engineer who did 72 hours of research and wrote a huge paper on how oils work and everything in plain english. related oil weights to melted candle wax.
-
well they did have the screen on the bottom of the engine case which acted as somewhat of a filter.
-
how do you run no filter? I use rotella 10w/40 and k&n filter in every daily driver vehicle I have had for 3 years now and no issues noted to date.
