  5. ok i know that there is a ton of questions on lifts on here and ive looked threw alot of them but none of them answered my question specificly. so i have a 86 mj 2.5 5spd and I'm not looking for a huge lift just enough to fit 30" tires. I'm not gonna be doing any real offroading i just wanted some extra height for snow in the winter and driving around the field on the farm and while hunting. ive looked at alot of options and i just can't decide what would be the best for me. so the first option i found would be 2in spacers up front and shackles in rear either chevy drop shackles adjustable ones from iron man i think or some 2inch shackles for a xj from various places wich should give me 1.5inch lift right? the next one would be 2inch coild, rustys mabey? and shackles in the rear still...or the pucks and a aal....or coils and add a leaf....so many options and price ranges!!!! also with 30" tires do i need to do different lca i hear ones from a wj work good with small lifts for they have a curve in them...if i the coild do i need to extend my bump stops? can i do 30x9.5x15 on stock wheels...do i need to extend brake lines, sway bar ends or whatever...i don't want my ride F-ED up and I'm not going rock crawling or anything just something to give me better performace at the farm when hunting and driving around the field and driving to school in the winter time....yes this is my DD I'm a high school student so my budget is limited...sorry if ive repeated anything or something i just need some advice lol
  6. 5. WJ LCA's = more tire clearance (some grinding required) 7. WJ rear LCA's = replace XJ front LCA's, 2" longer to accommodate a lift, some grinding required I'm wanting to do a 2 inch ish lift....would one of these be good to do...ive heard from diferent sorces that a small lift u don't need to replace/mod lca...but i don't wanna take risks...I'm so confused!
  7. right on! i was just gonna borrow a gun from a friend but mabey i should just buy one so i can use it whenever lol
  8. i think I'm gonna have to check that out sounds like it would work a little better then the tractor paint lol...i got awhile to think about it tho I'm not gonna do it till spring
  9. ya with tractor paint there isnt a whole lot of options...the factory paint is nautical blue or something and i want to keep it blue but the only blue in tractor paint is ford blue and its realy light...I'm gonna have to check out the dupont paint....only two quarts for the whole thing...how many coats did u do? I'm not gonna paint the bed either I'm gonna do a bed liner.
  10. Ok hardener check...what do you mean by "real paint reducer" is the same brand stuff ok to use? Also do i have to sand the whole ie thing down to bare metal...prime and paint or can I just sand the paint rough and prime were i need to
  11. hey guys new to the forum i have a 86 mj 2.5 that ive had since june....i think......ive done alot work to the thing to much to explain here..buuuuttt back to topic....the body on this thing is $#!& ive already taken off the fender flares and busted off chunks of rust there. sanded filled and primed tons of rust there...so my idea is come spring-summer i want to put a new coat of paint on....myself....i was thinking of using tractor and implement paint from the local farm store...by recommendation... and borrowing a gun from a friend....like i said I'm new and this is my first post really so just wondering if anyone does there own paint and body work and if they got any tips and suggestions for a noob
