  5. should be a fun project acually I'm driving into school tomorow to change the oil and replace the transmission filter and gasket overall very solid car ig except were it was just neglected. cough the rear left quarter panel were a piece of metal was just riveted in for a patch  and various spots that have just been neglected engine very solid tho.
  6. well it looks like I'm gonna have to put the jeep aside for a awhile:( i recently purchased a new project car a 1975 dodge dart custom. its a slant six auto tranny and alot of body work :wall: here she is should be fun lol. I'm sure gonna miss working on MJ for awhile shes still gonna be my DD this winter thankfully. so sadly I'm gonna have to re-direct myself to the dart and a different forum...sigh....wish me luck with this one!!!!!!
  7. that kit that the all data sheet shows isnt available just get some vacuum tubes i went to advance auto got a a chunk of every size and fitted them.
  8. I was hoping someone would tell me haha....I'm knew if ya couldn't tell lol
  9. ok just did this....so step one 1. remove the three little nuts holding on this thing...no idea what its called hahah 2. there is a stud on the intake manifold that has a bracket holding the hose from the pcv valve you may need to remove a nut (i didnt) slide the bracket up over the stud so it hangs loose 3 there will be a rubber connector thing which u can see in the other pictures pull that off. 4. replace with individual tubes 5.re assemble don't forget to plug the wiring harness back on to the thingy you had to remove
  10. Glad you guys found this usefull!!!
  11. hey guys just printed this off today at school off of all data thought some might appreciate it since all do not have access to all data. hope this helps. ill try and post some real pics when i try this hopefully soon also anyone know how to post a pic so it just shows up so you don't have to follow a link?
  12. The cluster is all stock i have all the service records from previous owners i will go look to see if the sending unit was ever replaced i don't think that's it tho
  13. my cruise doesnt even work haha..ya ik what your talking about it says renix on it... ok so now looking at the cluster i think the battery alternator gauge is fine but the oil pressure gauge is stuck over on high (80 i think) and ya the engine is very loud it almost sounds like the exhaust manifold is cracked or leaking or the exhaust is somewere near that but i checked that so ik thats not is
  14. ok so lets focus on the tach and spedo...it is pretty loud but i called the friend that i bought the truck from and he said that the tach is operated threw the computer which he told me was the little yellow box under the dash and he said he replaced that but he also said that it may be one from a v6 but it says amc on it so i don't think so....how hard is it to remove the cable i can't find it in my book?
  15. so this has been an issue since ive gotten the truck only the tach and spedo and mabey the battery light work? the fuel gauge bounces around the temp gauge sits in the blue the oil pressure gauge is stuck over to the right? but just today i was going into town and a friend passed me and he called me asking why i was driving so slow ( my spedo said i was going 65) when i get to about an indicated 68mph the little pointer thing starts jumping around. also is 4000rpm normal for a 86 2.5 4x4 in 5th gear going 55-60? one thing i do know is that my tires are not stock size...i have 235/75/15 now wich replaced 215/75s but talking to the guy i bought it from said that those wernt stock size either he just took them off his xj and put them on the mj...i got the build sheet from the door jamb and under tires it says 6374 whatever that means? mabey this shouldve been split up into multiple post idk...anything would be great
  16. reading alot of these there is alot of great ideas but the factory can't do alot of that lol...keep it simple and base...single cab with large area behind for storage guns etc...split bench with fold down center(i like being able to utilize the whole bench;) no carpet just rhino lined or something similar...removable drain plugs in floor to be able to wash out. i agree a little wider in the cab... manual tranny for every engine option...small diesel yes and hemi of some sort...4x4 duh and a lowered 2wd option sorta like a tacoma for street fun...ill think of more later
  17. Probably wouldn't end well. I just dint want top fudge sumthinh up wiring it to the ignition lol
  18. has anyone just ran it strait to the battery then a switch so you can just turn it on off whenever
  19. So you just stuck a chunk ofof metal under the mount to make it bigger ..sweet lo....you're engine bay is really clean lol i wish mine was that ....did you notice any power gains?
  20. what did you have to do to move the radiator? how did you all do to wire it in? did you wire it into the ignition so it goes on at start up or just a specific temperatures.....any pictures maybe? also what has to be done with stud or whatever it is that the mechanical fan is mounted on?
  21. looking around the DIY section i found the thread "junk Yard upgrades" one part is the ford electric fan from a Taurus or mustang...anyone done a electric fan on there truck? did you rip one from the yard or buy a new one? its an idea ive been rolling around for quite awhile. the truck is a 86 2.5 5sp. any tips would be greatly appreciated!
  22. you just made my decision!! thank you everyone!!!!!
  23. http://www.discountjeepparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/25949 so this kit mabey should give me 2in in the front and 1.5 in the rear since the shackles are for a xj.....or would it be better to d the spacers and chevy shackles? or is there a better kit similar to this that anyone would can recomend?
  24. Will WJ LCA prevent the rubbing like that?
