Diesel MJ/XJ info needed

Does anyone have any idea what model renault turbo diesel engine was used in the MJ/XJ'S?

 

I am doin a bit o reasearch :D for $#!&es and Giggles.

The MJ/XJ used the 1985-1987 2.1 L Renault turbodiesel I4 1985-1987 and

2.5 L VM Motori turbodiesel I4 1994-1996

 

Available engines:

1984-1996 2.5 L AMC I4, 121 hp-125 hp

1984-1986 2.8 L GM 60° LR2 V6

1985-1987 2.1 L Renault turbodiesel I4 (initially sold in US and until 1993 in Europe)

1987-1990 4.0 L AMC I6, 173-177 hp

1991-1996 4.0 L AMC "High Output" I6, 190 hp

1994-1996 2.5 L VM Motori turbodiesel I4 (sold in Europe)

The same motor was used in Winnebago Lesharo motor homes also.

Thanks for the quick responces :D I did a search on Yahoo and found a few sites that deal with the winnys and the renault engines but none list the engine number, I know it is a 2.1 TD but renault has about 7 varietys of TD and the sites I found don't break them down by year.\

Eureka :D I just found what I needed,

 

The engine is a "J8S" :D
