T-case spline ?

Ok I'am about to do a tranny swap from a Puegot to a AW4 auto

and have heard that the output spline's are diff. on the two.

 

So my ? is will the t-case I have work or do I need to change

the input shaft.

The Pukey and AW-4 both have 21 spline outputs on the T-case. The AX-15 manual is different, with 23.

x2. My 1990 had 21 splines. To be 100% sure, its best to get one out of a 1991+.

is an 89 so all should be good right ?

The t-case already has a SYE. kit so that's why I want to use it.

 

This is the G/F's dd so I need to do this swap in one weekend.

Will be doing the tranny swap, new dash, bed liner in the cab

so I need to be sure I've got it all ready to go when I start the project.

 

We have a few doner XJ's at the shop to pick part's from so I've got everything I should need.

That will work. That's what we did with Deb's MJ.

The AW4 went to 23 spline in the 9th month of '90 production. I went through several parts rigs till I found out for sure!
