Bansheemanche Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 What is the size of the piping that goes to the inlet of the muffler on a 4.0 truck. Is it 2 1/4" or 2 1/2"? I just want to swap in a new performance muffler and dump it under the truck. Thanks
Bansheemanche Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Awesome, that is what I need. thank you!
beaterjeep Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Cool, that answers it for me as well. Thanks for posting this banshee.
Eagle Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 2-1/4" assuming you are asking about a 4.0L. It's 2-1/2" into the catalytic converter, and the connector from the cat to the muffler exits the cat as 2-1/2" then necks down to 2-1/4"

Would that still be at the 2.5", or would it be down to the 2.25" at that point? Sorry for the hi-jack.

I guess in my area that if the vehicle is before 96, it won't be pulled. So I just had a straight pipe to the muffler. and yesterday i had the egr tube hole on the manafold plugged.
