Just picked up a 91 pioneer that has a neglected valve cover gasket.

Looking for opinions on the best degreaser out there.

I have used "engine brite" in the spray cans before and was not impressed.

Throw out some names and I'll see what they have when I go to get the gasket.

Purple Power is some great stuff. Cuts the grease film most leave behind. Used it to degrease the engine bay before paint. Paint shop was amazed and said it was the cleanest they had ever recieved being that old. However it doesn't react well with somethings so test before you commit.

It will remove paint.

Who sells the mean green. Haven't seen it on the shelf in my berg. I always end up using a bucket of gas & a stiff brush. It's messy as hell. Use a lot of break cleaner on stuff, but, it has some bad side effects on stuff you don't want to destroy. Reminds me of the time I used it on the internals of the shops vaccum cleaner. Sprayed it & took a break. When I came back it was a twisted mangled unrecognizeable piece of -----. Boss wasn't to happy. I've never had a grilled cheese melt like that thing did.
