JeepcoMJ Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 is it a direct swap or at least close to direct swap to ditch the 207 for the 231? i thought it was but sorta recall some one probably jeepco saying that there was more involved? . o and I'm sportn the ax5 shaft length. get a 21 spline 231 with a long input shaft. that will work the 231 geonovast and I had at hand (from a ba10/5) had a short input and would not have sealed up properly...weeping fluid isn't good. other than that one problem, it's easy. OH and there IS a kit out there somewhere, and also a seal that has a longer piece on it so you can use the short input on a tranny that requires long input. no idea where, but i've been told it is.
mfpdm Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Teraflex makes a seal extender. It claims it's for yj and tj but it might work. I used one on my TJ for the 241OR. They're a little tricky but work good. I have a spare that I can get measurements off of if anyone needs them. Here's a link :cheers:
JeepcoMJ Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 there ya go :D I'm probably just gonna go to my friend bruce's machine shop and turn my own...make it a bit more heavy duty than that...and perhaps thread it in (guys, I have like 4 ax5 tranny shells...i think i can do this :P)
