Rustys rant

Recommended Posts

I have had both good and bad experienses with Rusty's goods. I was told before I even thought of buying from them, that anything rustys bilds himself you will have to refit and adjust when you install it. Anything he resells from another manufacturerer, will be fine. This I have found to be pretty close to true. Everything I have gotten which was fabricated by rusty's needed adjsutments and holes redrilled and some filing done when it was installed. The items which were from another manuf. through Rusty's installed fine and works well. This is just my $0.02 and take it for what its worth. I have beat and wheeled all the parts and they are on daily drivers.

Except for the sway bar end links it has been the opposite for me

The lower control arms and track bar are good and stout the ubolts and other assorted hardware are working fine. Its just one coil spring and the service that suck for me.

I have learned my lesson though, It seems like every time I try and save a few bucks the ole jeep gods smack the snot outta me :D

  • 3 weeks later...

So hear I am :headpop: I figured I would post up the latest

I Finaly got my replacement spring and new ( second set ) sway bar end links.

Well you see it's like this. I ordereda "4.5" MJ lift kit " which means it comes with 4.5" Lift springs, Well seems rusty himself sent me out a 2" lift spring instead  and the sway bar end links are wrong as well , this time too short . I called rustys and rusty said they would get that spring out to me right that afternoon and rush it as well................... I'll see it round 2009?

I just had too share :D

I don't know if it's still the case, but awhile back (a couple of years), Rusty's was famous/notorious for sending fake tracking numbers, or somehow getting tracking numbers in advance of making the shipment. So the customer would have a tracking number that showed the item was in AL, and the item was actually either sitting in Rusty's warehouse or hadn't even been fabricated yet.

Yes! Yes! OMFG He so did that to me! I'd forgotten!

That's no scam, a shipment is assigned a tracking number once a manifest is created by a shipper and/or received by UPS. Doesn't matter if it's shipped yet or not. USPS does the same thing, once a user prints an e-shipping label, they get a tracking number. Doesn't mean a thing as far as shipping.
