Buffalo Man Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Where do I acquire a Throttle Position Sensor for an 1989 manual MJ? I can't seem to find one where both the harness is built well and the sensor works. My TPS is currently three wire nuts after a the center of the harness fell apart, and the first and second sensor both don't put out any kind of voltage that is readable or steady. Help lol
Eagle_SX4 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The manual TPS is hard to find and expensive. The automatic TPS can be used in the manual trucks. The second plug just sits there and doesn't get plugged into anything.
AnotherOldJeepGuy Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I swapped out the TPS on my 1990 4.0L (automatic) in a debug activity, there was no change (so the original was OK) but since I had the new one installed I just left it in there. I kept the original, which was installed maybe 5-6 years back. I don't need both, if you want my working original you can have it for shipping cost. DM me if you are interested. Again this one is for an automatic, but according to @Eagle_SX4 it will work.
