I'm currently doing a 95-96 Brake Booster and MC swap on my '87 Short Bed Auto, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on rerouting the shifter cable and the fuel line that goes over the wheel well. They're contacting the booster, and I'm worried about possible issues down the road from the fuel line getting a hole worn in it and spraying fuel all over everything (like the exhaust 0_0).

this is more a general tip than for this in particular (the only swap I've done was for a manual), but split wire loom is a miracle working for preventing abrasion issues.  :L:

This is what my booster looks like you can see the fuel line. If I remember correctly I just moved the plastic retaining clip to a different hole and it cleared just fine.

I... don't know why I didn't think of that.

Although that still doesn't fix the problem of the shifter cable rubbing against one or the other. I wonder how many other people have done this swap on a column shift auto..? Maybe the WJ swap would've been easier.

The WJ uses a similar booster but the brake rod is not correct and would have to be cut and welded to achieve the correct pedal height. The 95-96 XJ booster is the only one that is truly bolt in with the exception of the brake lines.
