thejeepmanwithcrocs
so the last thread on my recent post i was having issues with my brake lights but then my slave cylinder went out so lights were then the least of my concerns. now that me and my buddy got the transmission pulled and new clutch kit installed the truck is back on the road. i got the brake lights fixed because the power wire came out of the terminal to the brake light switch i still have no running lights. hazards, turn signals and brakes all work. headlights too. but when i pull the knob halfway out for running lights (ambers in the front inop aswell) ive got nothing. any tips or ideas to begin would be great! thank you! Gojira94
Try pulling the headlamp switch and testing for continuity from B2 to R with the switch in the park/ running lights position and the headlamps on position. I bet you get OL at the park position.

Watched a video of a guy with the same style Cherokee and looks like I gotta take the bottom dash and the cluster out.
Gojira94
No need to pull the dash cluster. The lower panel, maybe, but I've managed to do it with it in place though its a bit more difficult. If you do remove the lower panel, there are visible screws holding it, plus one behind the ash tray. On the very ends, there is one at each end going straight up as well. thejeepmanwithcrocs
So with the new switch in I still have the same problem. With the lights turned to the on position I checked my front left amber light with the bulb out and I have all ground no power. Is there a way to test the switch with the test light? Obviously I’m getting power. Headlights are on. But what’s blocking the power to the taillights?
87MJTIM
Do you have the 88 electric manual?
thejeepmanwithcrocs
I have the manual now. Thank you. Sadly it’s hard for me to wrap my brain around this stuff. I’m trying I really am. Just feeling slightly discouraged just because of a lack of knowledge on how these things work lol. I’m gonna do my best to study this maybe it can lead me in a good direction.
