HVAC Vacuum Lines / Blend door actuators

Recommended Posts

So, recently went on the good ole dash-completely-out new heater core journey. Not as bad as I thought. Neighbor and I got it done in an afternoon! However, now I need to figure out how to get my blend doors working, When I adjust the temp or vent mode on the climate control panel my blend doors don’t move at all. I see those black and white vacuum hoses running from the climate control are disconnected as well. Can anybody help with this? I need some major guidance, haha.

All the blend doors are controlled by vacuum from the engine. There should be a reservoir behind the bumper in a shape of a ball(less cruise control) or a football(with cruise control). If you have the ball, it’s just one line that goes up to a vac line that comes out of the foam where the heater core tubes come out of and connect to that. The football shape has two lines, one for cruise and one for the HVAC. If you have cruise, hopefully that line is still hooked to the servo and just leaves one line unattended.

I thought the hot\cold door was cable actuated?

Whoops! My bad. That is correct, the rest of the doors are vacuum actuated. Heat and AC are just the cable that actually can be seen on the pass side behind the lower dash.
