MattK
I just installed the transfer case shifter on the floor and ordered the small console for it but it doesn’t sit flat in the floor. Enough room to put my finger under. I took all 4wd components from a 1990 jeep xj pioneer. Is the tcase shifter mounting different for a column shift mj vs a floor shift? I will attach a pic
llhat
no 100% sure but think the XJ tunnel may have a different contour than the MJ tunnel... Others can set me straight if wrong...

It's not just you. I've concluded it's the lack of carpet pile that creates the gap.
MattK
Yeah, I removed original rubber mat to repair floor. The new rubber flooring is pretty stubborn and doesn’t look perfect. I’m still convinced the column shift mj tcase shifter is different because there is a hole on the front of the console that clearly requires a screw but my shifter doesn’t have a mounting bracket in that spot.
