What year was this Transmission made?

good morning, I have a 1992 Comanche that I’m getting ready to do convert from 2WD to 4WD. When I purchased the Manche the dude threw in another transmission and transfer case. I just want to verify that this is the year that I need. I checked the factory service manual and all it said was to use the info on the plate when ordering parts. I’ve done the conversion on my Cherokee with no issues.

is that first pic of your current 2wd transmission?

No, it’s the 4x4 transmission

oh, I see now.  I knew I read somewhere that that's the model number of the 2wd version, but more research shows that Jeep used it for both 2 and 4wd at times.

 

once you find out which year it is, this thread will help out.  near any year can be used with some extra work.

The transfer case was made on October 8, 1990. (The serial number is also the build date)
